Hi guys!
I’m currently reviewing for REG test using Roger, and will be taking it next week before the window closes for Q1.

I’m just really worried on where to focus re: SIMS. Is there any possibility of having a BLAW topic there? Do you guys mind sharing a broad topic (nothing that will expose the exact question you had) in mind that usually appears on SIMS?
Also, do you guys think Roger materials will not enough? I’m thinking of supplementing Ninja for this last 10 days of reviewing…

I’ll appreciate your insights as I’, extremely stressing out right now.

I took REG last Friday, and the SIMs I had focused on Individual taxation, Partnerships, and C Corps. Honestly, I would not be concerned with seeing BLAW as a topic of SIM, I think those are more for MCQ. If you haven't already, I would review the blueprint on the AICPA website for REG and while you are there, do their practice CPA exam. The blueprint is nice, because it gives you a better idea of what will most likely be tested on the SIMs on a broad range. Also, expect the unexpected when it comes Exam day for SIMs.

Honestly don't study based on the blueprints. Just study whatever you can and especially areas you're weaker at.This exam surprises you in many ways so yeah just go in prepared for whatever they throw at you. I've given REG twice now and realized you need to know your basis (partnership, c-corps- s-corps and individual) and their respective tax forms. Honestly if you're comfortable in those areas, the sims aren't too bad. I'm not sure if this happens to others but sometimes I feel like theres an overlap of FAR nothing major but kinda in terms of calculations. Make sure you go through MCQs quicker so that you have enough time for the SIMS, I think this would be the most Imp point for me cause you need time to read the sims and answer and it takes up quite some time.
