REG sims are getting me, how to beat them?

SO I have 2 days until my REG test and I am fairly comfy with MCQ as I will show below. However, when I do a practice exam with the SIMS, the SIMS easily ruin my end score, I often get half of them 0-30% correct. Right now I get 73 or 76 for every MCQ session but then my BEST practice exam score is a 60 due to SIMS and some MCQ memory loss. I do not want the SIMS to prevent my success. Tips?

do every single sim on ninja and carefully read the solutions
not only to just get what's on the solution,
but also to branch out from the solutions and think about what you learned.

    found something you forgot?
don't brush it off. don't just read that one line on the solution and think you got it.
go back to your textbook and make sure you REALLY get it.

if you aren't getting the sims, it's because you have not yet acquired solid understanding of the material.

mcqs can easily mislead you overconfidence.
sims are what truly tests your comprehensive knowledge & i think it's especially true for reg.

I agree with jombe that sims test your overall knowledge and are a better indicator of how well you know the material. I just started studying for REG last week and have no idea how I'm going to remember all this stuff by my exam. Wish I could extend it until the last day of the window, but my NTS expires on 11/26.

@jombe- You think I can borrow 20 points from your REG score? lol. Your scores are insane! How did you study for REG?

Oh OK. I was more worried about my 75% trending MCQ score than my sim score, so I should focus on studying sims for my last study day?

Give yourself as much time as possible for the Sims. I shot for a 1 minute per question pace on MCQ's. I ended up with 1 hr 20 min for the sims.

Im a person that uses the whole time for the exams. I would have preferred to spend more time on the MCQ testlets but I had to sacrifice that time for the sims.

For the sims I ran through all of them giving my best rough answer on everything as quickly as possible but still being thoughtful about it. Then I had like 15 minutes to go back and double check everything, making sure my calculations were right and that I understood what was being asked. I barely had time to double check everything.

Good luck!!! I hope you do well.

    Two more.

Thanks and thank you for the tips. I am a fast person, but man the practice sims completely bog me down, haha. They are nothing like BEC written communication.

Yeah I agree, Sometimes I think a know a topic and then a sim gives you 8 different scenarios on that one topic. Definitely great additional study material, but so time consuming.

All I can do is give it a shot. Not sure if I am happy or not that sims are 40% of the score.
