    Hi all!

    I feel completely defeated and need some advice.

    I'm 35 and decided to take the CPA exam after being out of college for 12 years. This journey started in October 2015. I passed BEC and FAR right away. I've been trying to pass REG for 6 months now. My scores are as follows – 58, 73, 69. Any advice on how to improve. I'm worried as I have REG and AUD left, plus BEC is dropping off May 23, 2017. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

    Jessica Thomas

    Aud - 68(12/16) /58 (02/17)

    BEC-79 (11/15)

    FAR - 57 (2/16) / 75 (04/16)

    REG - 58 (08/16)/ 73 (10/16)/ 69 (02/17)

    Re-taking REG in April – great question on the new exam structure. I guess we just continue to hammer on the MCQ's, and practice on the AICPA website.

    So far we got a heavy load in the retake club – I hate joining this thread when I'm one of the few retakers. I used to be weak in MCQs but my last 2 takes on REG have killed me in SIMS while being strong in MCQ. I've heard that NINJA SIMS aren't great. Becker obviously didn't get me where I needed to be. Any counter arguments to the NINJA statement or suggestions?

    @jessicathomas12
    – My BEC expires next month so I very much know how you feel. You can knock this out. My first REG attempt was last May. Time to get crazy and just kill REG.

    FAR - 72, 71, 78 (Becker+NINJA)

    REG - 69, 59, 69, 72, 76 (Becker+a private tutor+NINJA+Gleim free trial+seriously anything else I could review)

    AUD - 77 (Becker only)

    Okay so i just took reg today for the first time and i am 99% positive i failed. Multiple choice weren't too bad but the sims were just on a whole other level of hard. I know i found the research one, 2 of them werent so bad but i know for i fact that i made dumb mistakes just by how overwhelmed i was with the other sims. The 4th one was a DRS simulation which combined a few different topics, and 5th and 6th were covered nowhere in becker.

    Since it was the first time taking reg i think i didnt save myself enough time with 1.5 hours for the sim and found myself really overwhelmed. Anyway still expecting to fail.

    My big question though for you guys is how do you feel about the new becker 2017 course? I am just looking it over to see if this stuff is reflective of the “harder exam” to come, but everything looks the same!!! In fact there are a significantly less amount of questions and sims? Has anyone put substantial time into studying this new course and feel the same way? My becker expires in less than a month, and with what they have to show in their new course, i dont see how it could possible help me fill the gaps that left me with this choking feeling on test day..

    BTW sorry for the long post- also a first time poster and not sure how to get the cool thing on the bottom with the score, but i have passed BEC with an 81 and Audit with an 89, so i know i am capable of doing this. But by the looks of the new becker, IDK!!!

    @Jack I bought the new Roger 2017 book, but other than that, yeah I am using NINJA videos and MCQs. I am not sure if there is anything else I could do at this point! I was told that the exam questions are very much the same, there will just be more SIMs, causing the test to be graded 50/50 instead of 60/40, so that's why I figured practicing SIMs was the best bet.
