Hi aatoural! I'm a couple weeks into studying REG for my exam on 10/17. This is my first time studying for REG but tax were my favorite classes in college, so I feel good about the first half of the material. Not sure what to expect for business law though.

From advise I have gotten. B-law should be the easy points you don't want to miss. I have not schduled mine yet. Going to do so this weekend, what get a feel on how REG studyies go. I do like taxes as well, so I don't feel as worried with my studies as I was for AUD.

I hope this quarter is more active, last quarter REG thread was a bit slow.

I am planning on taking REG at the beginning of Dec. Working full time and hoping I have enough time to get comfortable with all material and have enough time to practice MCQ!

So far I am on Ch#2 in Becker. Don't have any desire to memorize all limits and deductions, but knowing that this is my last exam, I hope to find the strength:). Best of luck to everyone!

Aatoural, Thank you! The same to you and everyone else taking exam this quarter. I am using Becker for textbook and supplement it with Ninja MCQ. It seems that this strategy has worked so far! I don't love tax, ch 1 was short and easy and all details start in Ch. 2.

I'm re-sitting this window.. hopefully end of the first week in October….maybe give myself an extra few days but then I won't be able to fit FAR in this window as well, which is what I was hoping. Unfortunately there's no way to tell what you need to know. some questions are so specific and others are very broad.. reading the tax forms over definitely helps as some sections you'll need to know and you'll sometimes get the forms on SIMs but then it's just a fill in the blank scenario. Good luck everyone!

Anyone else using Wiley for Reg?

Each one of the lectures is at least 10 min and some are around 25-30. Thats insane compared to all the other sections.

    Hi everyone,

I just passed my final section (REG) and would like to give some thoughts.

I believe that the typical CPA study materials are insanely overpriced and not very helpful (Becker etc.)- watching someone talk about a concept does nothing for me, I need to read and think about the details.

If you spend time taking notes on all questions/concepts you get wrong on NINJA MCQs (I used a word document, handwriting is too slow) and understand what you get wrong for the most part, until you achieve an over 75% trending score (80% would be the safe bet) you WILL PASS; I'm not 100% certain of this but I feel strongly enough to use all caps. I used FastForwardAcademy when I began the CPA journey and I would not recommend it, the questions are not difficult enough and it does not stay up-to-date.

So I/my company spent around $1200 on study material, and I could have easily passed spending $47×4 sections ($188) on NINJA MCQ.

Hi, I have appeared for REG before, but not clear on the tax section, as I have never studied US taxation before. Trying again in Oct.

Hey everyone! I'm re-sitting for REG this window.. hopefully mid-October so I can fit BEC into the end of the window. Using yaeger videos (not a huge fan), Ninja notes and ninja mcqs. Life has gotten in the way lately so I'm trying to start fresh.

    FAR - 61, retake 1/22

    AUD - 2022

    REG - 2022

    BEC - 2022

JP1090CPA – thanks for the tip, and I agree with you that making sure that you understand why you get stuff wrong and writing it down (even in word) does help pass.

I am getting confused in something so simple that I used to have down, but Becker made me confused now. Interest in state and local tax refund is it tax rexempt or taxable? Same thing for interest on treasury certificates/bonds/obligations/etc?
