    Hi,

I am taking the regulation exam in 2.5 weeks using BECKER. I am trying to cram as must as possible. I so far watched the videos and did the questions for chapters 1-4. I am almost done with chapter 5, but I decided to skip the lectures for 5-8 in order to speed up the learning so I can begin my review. Is this a bad idea? I feel like 5-8 is very straight forward and I could get away with it but I am not entirely sure and looking for other peoples opinions who passed reg.

@CPA_help – definitely do not skip chapter 5 and also keep in mind that chapters 6-8 are about 20% of your score. I skipped chapter 5 and took it easy on 6-8 and I am back at studying REG. Those could be your easy points. Easy to get but painful to lose! I failed with 74 and I would definitely pass if I didn't pick and choose what to study. But that's just me, you can get 100% on all other material and pass without touching half of the Becker book.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

okay thank you! when you say you skipped chapter 5 do you mean entirely or just the lecture. I am still reading the entire book and doing all the questions on becker, I have a version of the book that has all the notes and highlightes in it because i borrowed it from a friend. I am still going to complete all MC from each chapter and all the sims. I am just not sure that I want to spend so much time listening to the lectures because I struggle to pay attention to them anyway.

I misunderstood you! I think you can definitely skip the video lectures and you will grasp more by reading the book. I feel like the lectures are necessary if there are additional explanations on the topic outside of the book but chapters 5-8 are straight forward.

I listened to lectures and didn't go back to the textbook after that. I missed out on a lot of small details.

Also, when you do cumulative review tests during your review week(s) keep in mind that Becker will limit the number of questions from those chapters so I would do those separately. This is my game plan. Cumulative review for chapters 1 through 4 and then separately for chapters 5 through 8.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

dude don't skip even a single page of Becker's text book of R1 to R4. Each and every word is important.
R5 – do all the Passmaster questions
R6-7 – pass master is ok
R8 – Agency, surety and various forms of entity are important – Passmaster is ok
