I just took REG using Roger CPA Review. I work in advisory and have zero experience in tax. My Becker material expired and I decided to switch it up for REG. I saw some of Roger’s sample videos for FAR on youtube and I loved it so decided to use him for REG. I had 3 weeks to study for the test.. and I got a 93, my highest score and the least amount of time spent studying. Roger is cheaper than Becker but if he charged 20 times more than Becker I would still 100% recommend using him. If only he made CFA and GMAT review courses….wow. Thank you Roger, from the bottom of my heart.

do you think it will be easy to follow if I only use his final review for REG? I still have Becker but would like to add Roger just to tie everything together at the end.. Congrats on finishing the exams!

Wow that's absolutely awesome. I have Roger and am doing Gleim's test bank – it is killing me BTW. I really haven't used his test bank much – don't like the format as much.

While I take a small break from Roger's NEW IPQ software,

@tbbg, Completely agree, but when I took FAR, I wished he had his new software. Questions were harder. Hope he helps me this second time around. Congrats btw! 🙂

@Spartans92, His CRAM for REG? If you're referring to that, I used it MAINLY as my way of studying for REG and while it's really compact. It's JUST the skeletons.. I think I would have benefited more from reading his book. There's WAY more notes that way. I felt I missed a lot of details when I was just using his cram stuff.

@CPA2021, His new stuff is REALLY nice!! I have a hate/love relationship with his new software. Love that the questions got harder but hate how un-userfriendly the software is. Anywho, good luck to you all.

Thanks so much! I wouldn't suggest mixing review courses. The mnemonics and ideas are portrayed differently and I think it will confuse you more than help you. I have actually used the Becker final review when I used Becker, and that helped tie everything together very nicely (I think Becker final review is very important because the regular Becker review is WAY too detailed and you can easily get lost in the little things.. the Becker review course gives you the big picture.) Use Roger for your other tests as he is able to keep the big picture in the frame (so to speak) during the entire review while also filling you in on the details that matter for the test. A couple of days before I took REG I peaked at the Becker book and was absolutely SHOCKED at the absurdity of mind numbing details that Becker had. Roger keeps everything fresh, in perspective and truly focuses on the stuff that matters. And to top it off, he's funny as hell!!

One more thing to people who are considering Roger or using him now. You absolutely need to supplement his software with another test bank (I suggest Wiley test bank in “study mode” as you learn A TON as you do the questions and read their explanations). Good luck to all of you!

Yup Roger and Wiley Test Bank was what I used for all 4 tests. You study, you do MCQs like crazy, you pass.

    BEC - Passed (76)
    AUD - Passed (89)
    REG - Passed! (81)

Question for those who took the FAR exam- I'm using Roger and doing the MCQ's non-stop and his task-based-simulations. Are the questions in the actual exam (MCQ”s and TBS) similar to the kinds of questions Roger asks? I am having a gut feeling that the Roger questions are a bit simplified and don't want to experience shock when I take the real exam.

@dbilon2, yes Roger MCQ is a bit simplified.. but Wiley test bank is much harder than the test. The actual exam is somewhere in between Roger and Wiley.

Roger has the best lectures and the most easy to read/understand books. I started with Gleim and quit then within 2 weeks because of how the book was written and the monotone lecture just did not work for me.

I think I got lucky with BEC but in every other case the formula to pass has been Roger lectures to get the overall understanding and NINJA MCQs for actual practice. If you NINJA MCQ and see every question at least twice you have a good shot at passing. BUT, you can't fly through them. I would say 50-100 questions per night making notes as you go along and understanding why the correct answer is correct is the best way to go. Not everyone absorbs information at the same speed so I hesitate to say if you do ______ hours of MCQs you will pass.

I have used Roger exclusively for FAR, BEC and AUD and passed on first attempt on each. I have zero experience in AUD and scored an 89. His lectures are GREAT explaining everything and I think his books are outstanding also. With the new IPQ up and running it is great. I am using him for REG also in August and I have no tax background.

If people realized how much easier Roger is than the other courses, it wouldn't be a tough decision for anyone. Part of the problem is that the Roger CPA course is not offered for free to employees at the top 50 accounting firms (Becker and Wiley are). It's our job in this forum to let people know how great Roger is, he deserves the hype.

Roger is awesome. I used Roger and only Roger with no supplement test banks. I barely practiced some mcq and no sim at all for FAR, BEC, AUD, I had to practice some mcq for REG. I failed REG without doing any mcq, then passed after doing about 250 mcq for taxation/0 for business law.

Working full-time and taking all 4 parts in one window.

If I can do it, you all can too.

I have to say that I used Roger and Ninja MCQ's. I passed all sections on the first try. Roger helps a lot with grasping the content. At first, I was worried that he just taught the bare minimum, but he never let me down.
