    Hello all-

I sat for AUD yesterday. Before the exam, I was reviewing flashcards with Wiley’s app. It was helpful because some of the MCQs were very similar to them. The first testlet wasn’t bad at all. My second testlet was a bit more tricky and I think I missed about four in a row. I was breezing through the MCQs, but I slowed down after missing some. I gave myself about two and a half hours for the TBS. I had to calculate one problem and I know I missed it because I remember doing a similar problem while studying, but the exam tested it slightly different. I hope it was a test problem. Haha

My other TBS were okay, but I will know June 27th. The research question was okay. I did use the AL to answer some questions so the extra time helped. Since Wiley’s software always perform poorly, I was glad to use the AICPA’s software that worked. It was very easy to view the problem and documents side by side. It was easy to navigate through the authoritative literature.

My advice is to know the reports and the different opinions and when they apply. I tried to memorize the 13 assertions, but it’s more helpful to know how they apply. I used my own diagrams to visualize the assertions problems on the exam.

    Good luck on your AUD!

I noticed your FAR score. It was close. If I were on your shoes I’d get FAR out of the way before taking other sections. Of course as far as with REG too, Becker cannot emphasize enough to get REG out of the way before the DRASTIC tax changes that will be testable in 2019.

    @Amor

Thanks! I need a win. lol

Yeah, I was burned out on FAR. If I didn't try to memorize and learn most of the topics, I might have passed. I couldn't do a retake back to back. My brain was fried from FAR topics. My score report stated I was weak on SIMS and comparable on MCQs.

I agree with you. I scheduled REG for July and I am waiting for my application to get approved to schedule FAR (the retake in my signature is the date I plan to take it).

    Thanks.

Good luck! I just don’t like the 2 1/2 months wait. I did complain in the survey after the exam. Haha

I only had one calculation based and it was similar to what you mentioned. I think I got my research question correct (fingers crossed). I usually type in keywords in the search function if I don’t know where to start.

    @ Tiderfl

I don't know how I did because like you said some of those SIMs were tricky. I felt like I spent a lot of time trying to figure them out. I know I blew the calculation problem so I tried not to spend too much time on it. I finished with seven minutes on the clock.

Hopefully, your example is just hypothetical. Haha Do you mean April Year 2 to March 30 Year 3?

@Tiderfl. It is hard to tell if you passed these tests or not, but every time I felt like I passed, I did. I’ve also seen people say that if you finish to quickly you probably failed. I only failed one exam, and that is the only test that took the full time. The 4 passed ranged from 2hr 15 Min to 3hr 15 min. So don’t let people try to make you feel like you may have failed if you feel like you passed. You still may fail just because these are tricky tests, but be confident in yourself and you will get through these beasts.

As far as an insurance premium paid in year 2, extending through year 3. You would have a prepaid expense that would be expensed as you go. At the end of year 2 you would have a prepaid expense left for the 3 remaining months of the policy. An accrual is used to accumulate cash to pay a future expense before its due, whereas as a prepaid is used to pay an expense that is due now and covers a future period.

So entries i guess would be for year end adjustment

    Insurance expense xx
Prepaid insurance xx (as it will decrease the prepaid insurance after it is incurred).

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 76
    REG - 77
FINISHED.    "If I can do it, so can you".- ME.
