This is my first post on the forum. I am hoping to become more active as I move on to my other parts of the exam. I have been a long time reader, but haven’t had much to post on.

I took my exam on November 20th and I am feeling pretty good about it. My first testlet was very fair with a good mix of topics tested. I flagged a few, but overall felt pretty confident on that set of MCQ. It was about 60% conceptual and 40% computational. My second testlet definitely felt harder, but it was mainly just the subject matter. It was largely COSO/IT and I literally had no computational questions. I would assume this was a more difficult set of MCQ?? I still didn’t feel like anything was out of left field though. It was mainly just the typical second guessing type of questions that come from COSO and IT – AKA it made my brain hurt.

The TBSs were animals. 2 of them were pretty straight forward, but the other 2 were painful. It was nothing like I had seen on the AICPA website. The calculations were very involved. One thing they asked me to calculate I was promised up, down, left and right from Wiley we would never be tested on. Wiley definitely did not prepare me for this. Each TBS had some objective answers on a drop down screen that could save you some points, but overall I would say the level of difficulty was much harder than I was expecting. I think I was able to work my way through a lot of it, but it was still a shock. I would say I probably did about as well on the TBSs as anyone who was prepared, but it could go either way.

The WC were all subjects I would have expected to be tested on. Left myself 45 minutes and was able to successfully construct a 4-5 paragraph answer for all 3. I answered them in the order I felt more comfortable with the question. That approach really helped me sort my thoughts.

Overall I feel like I passed, which is probably the kiss of death, but I definitely felt like the test was fair minus the TBSs from hell. I feel like I did enough to pass. I took BEC around this time last year and scored a 63 with minimal studying. I felt so much better walking out this time than I did last time. I am hoping to see that 75+ next month.

I studied with Wiley and used the NINJA Sniper as a supplemental source. The Ninja MCQ were definitely the difference. I felt much more prepared after 2 weeks of pounding MCQ than I did before. I would recommend them to anyone. I will be purchasing the Sniper for the next 3 sections. Just figured I would share my experience for anyone interested. Moving on to REG this week.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I take it next Thursday and I'm a bit nervous. Good to know that Ninja helps! I've had good experiences with it in the past and I'm hoping to continue that trend, but right now I still don't feel prepared enough for next week.
