I just realized that if you don’t really plan when you are taking the exam, you could either be waiting a mere eight days or so, OR if you take the exam the day after a cut-off date you could be waiting a whole month for the results.

Not sure why that didn’t hit me before. I always try and take an exam on a Saturday so I don’t have to use a day of personal leave; so I scheduled REG for 10/24. The cut-off date is 10/23. If you take it after 10/23 and on or before 11/11, the score is released November 24th. That’s a whole month I’ll have to wait for the score. A whole month. UGH.

I’m old and take blood pressure medication as it is already. 🙂

You're fine sir since you can study for other section while waiting for the result. Its a different story if this was your last exam though.

Welcome to my life. I originally had my exam scheduled for July 22nd but just felt I wasn't ready. Took it July 30th so it is a near month. This is my last exam.

With the continuous testing, you can re-take an exam (let's hope none of us have to!) the next grading window, as long as you took it prior to the most recent cut-off date.

If you have the time and money, this is the strategy I've been using. If I take it on the last possible day of the current grading cut-off window, then i only have to wait a week or two for my grades and i can retake it in the next available window so that the information is still fresh in my memory.

We are all different and do what works for you!

You are very lucky you only have to wait a month.
The poor souls in 2017 when the exams changed format had something like a 6+ month wait.
I think they held all scores for 2nd and 3rd quarter until the end of 3rd quarter.
Then they held the 4th qtr scores until Dec 19th.
I was lucky, and only had to wait about 6 weeks.

I feel like the “get off my lawn!” or “up hill both ways” guy, but when I took my first test, results weren't released until the 3rd month of the quarter. Those who took it early January would have to wait until March for results. I wasn't testing during the 2017 format change, but I can't imagine how frustrating that would've been. Either way, 8 days or a whole month – no wait is fun.

Yeah, I know it could always be worse, right? LOL. I had someone tell me about the “good ole days of paper / pencil and taking all four sections over two days”. They say people these days are “babied and coddled”.

I have no idea, but when I look at FAR sims, I def don't feel coddled 😉

    Hope everyone is staying safe!
