Hello all,

I am scheduled to take BEC on 3/10/18. This is the first part I have ever taken and I have not studied at all. I read a few pages of the ninja book, glanced at the notes and have not done any MCQ or practice test. I have not studied for the past two weeks as I had to work out of town and overseas (I’m a little older and been in the workforce for a while). I’m already too close to my exam window and cannot reschedule as I have to reapply for a new testing window. My question is do I go in and just wing it and see what I get or should I not show up or just cancel it? I would be embarassed if I get like a 20 on the test. I cannot get my money back so any advice would be appreciated.

If the money is already spent, then I would roll the dice.
You have 11 days. Try and do 100 MCQs a day using study mode where you see the answers immediately.
I will say its probably a long shot, but what have you got to lose. At least you would get to see what its like.

I don't know-I can barely stomach these tests when I have studied, I would probably just cancel, and pay for the new NTS….

I agree with Recked because I don't feel prepared for FAR at all and my exam is this Friday. I am going to take it and move on to the next section.

I say roll the dice. It's a real long shot, but you'll find out your score in March and would be able to retake as early as April 1 if needed, which is the earliest you would be able to sit if you rescheduled anyways.

If you can't get your money back then definitely take it. You either don't go and are out of the money, or at least show up and get a feel for the complexity's of the exam. No brainer – I'd take the exam

Absolutely you should sit for it since A) you already paid and B) you can get a sense of the questions asked and C) you might pass!

Bless you for admitting you have not studied for real. It's definitely your choice. But I know you don't expect to pass. But really, if you can reschedule, I would reschedule and give yourself the best chance to pass. 🙂

I honestly wouldn't even bother; you'll probably just end up walking out anyway. It's not something you can pass by guessing.

You should go for it. Focus on IT and COSO. If this is your first test it will be great to get your feet wet. Even if you bomb it you will know what to focus on next time. Best case scenario you pass. Worst case scenario, you bomb it and make the questions more favorably weighted for everyone else who took the test this window lol.

There's no reason not to take it imo. BEC isn't easy, but at least it doesn't have a ton of content compared to the other tests. Pound MCQs the next week and a half and give it a shot. If you fail, oh well. It cost you some time, but hopefully that time is beneficial for the next time you take it.
