    Great!

Now only 4 days till my test and I haven’t started a rehearsal test yet. Fxxk it.

Well at least I now have some clue on these chapters.

I’ve finished my Gleim study, Government (2 chapters), NFP and Receivable are my most difficult chapters.

PP&E, Inventory and Cash Flow are the most easiest chapters.

Other than that, non-current liabilities are a pain in the ass. Lessor accounting can be complicated. Oh, and I hate revenue recognition.

Right now I don’t give a fxxx I pass or not. I am just glad only 4 days left till I say bye bye to FAR.

LOL…I swear the chapters are all weighted funny with Gleim. I can fly through chapters 1-6 in about 2-3 days, but then I hit a brick wall with Inventory and PPE (usually about 4 days to get through those two). Bonds/Leases/Equity are also a rough stretch. I was tapping out whenever I hit Government/NFP 2 weeks ago. Why are those three chapters in the back of the book? I just don't understand.

@mtaylo: They save it for the end because Roger, Gleim, all these guys want us to feel confident about financial accounting and reporting, like we have a chance come exam day. Then WHAM! The most non-sensical way to convey numbers is presented upon us to destroy our confidence. It will be nice when it we all forget about this stuff a year or two after we pass 🙂

"FACT": The odds of consecutively passing all four sections of the CPA exam on the first try: 7%.

only a week? I think I spent almost a month on them but they were my hardest chapters since I had never taken the course with them in college…

Probably took me 10-14 days. Especially since I had never seen the material. Honestly, I thought the material was not that bad. What made it hard was I had never seen it before. Some chapters are easier for others, whereas some are harder. Most of it depends on your educational background. Hang in there bc almost anyone who passed FAR probably hated their life, unless they were some sort of savant. Goodluck!

With FAR There were a few chapters dealing with equity 2 or 3 of them that I had a rough spot with at the end.

You have a few days, if you make an effort to spend most of your time hitting those weak areas hard it might make the difference.

I suggest you tough it out, start each study time with an hour or so going over everything before really pushing with the stuff you suck at.

I am using gleim also, but I just started the FAR section. I believe they only have about 20 pages for this particular unit and I did not pay attention to NFP/governmental accounting during school. Should I be worry and need to buy supplemental material?

No need for supplemental material. Gleim will give you everything you will need and then probably some more because how complex the questions are.

Does anyone know if deriving government wide financial statements and reconciliation requirements is heavily tested? I am really struggling with that specifically…

Hey guys, I messed up my exam time. I thought it's gonna be 20th, instead, it's 18th (How the hell I got that wrong?).

So of course, I can't take it tomorrow. So I postponed it by 9 days to 27th.

That was close, I nearly messed up until test center called me this morning to notify me of tomorrow's exam. When I heard in the voice mail “tomorrow”, I was like WTF? Tomorrow? I thought it is 20th!!!! Then I looked at my exam registration confirmation email. Damn, it is 18th!

I nearly screwed up this one…….

@nalratoss, It happens! For my very first CPA exam, I thought it was scheduled for Aug 30, but it was the 29th. Didn't realize this until I was on my way to the exam. Unfortunately, Prometric didn't give you the courtesy call or send the e-mail back in 2012, so I was out $200. Rocky start for a rocky journey smh. Best of luck on the 27th!

@nalratoss, that's a great investment of your time. From my experience these topics give the most pain in the back on the exam. Especially because they are so rarely met in the real life (if ever).

Govt and NFP are really important. I actually went back to my textbooks to bone up on these topics. Well worth it as it allowed me to pass FAR with an 82. This stuff is HARD! Just be gritty, perseverent, and you will win!

The examiners blatantly tell you that NFP/Gov is a large part of the FAR exam, I spent about a week on it the first time I took FAR and that did not cut it. I'd recommend spending 10 days to 2 weeks on that subject and then reinforcing it along with everything else for another week or two until you take the exam. Know it well and it will pay off for you
