    Hi Team,

I am a Chartered Accountant from India with a B.Com regular degree of 3 years. Also I have evaluated my education and according to that i have 140 semester credit hours. I live in Texas. I applied in Colarado but they required US GAAP specific disclosure in the evaluation report which the evaluation agency doesn’t provided. Ultimately they rejected by application. Now i want to know which state i should apply for registration as presently i just want to appear for the exam and after completing it i will complete my education hours and than apply for license. Kindly help me with this

You should sit in a state with no residency requirement. I think New Hampshire or Iowa are good candidates. I wish I had known that before applying to Missouri. I live in the Kansas City area, but on the Kansas side. I bought a PO box near state line on the Missouri side to sit in Missouri, but I could've avoided all of that by sitting in a state that has no residency requirement.

    Hi Rashmi,

I too am from India and currently preparing for my CA final. I have done my B.Com (Hons.) from University of Calcutta. It was also a 3 year course just like yours.

Can you help me with the following queries ?

    1. Your evaluation of 140 hours is only for B.Com or does it include your CA too ?

    2. Which evaluation agency did you use ?

    3. From which university did you get your B.Com degree ?

    4. Does the marks in these courses (B.Com / CA) have any effect on how many equivalent US semester credit hours are awarded by the evaluation agency ?

Please excuse so many questions but I am really considering the US CPA after I am done with my CA.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hello gaaptoothed,

I am also from India. I have passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam. I had 126 credit hours (B.Com + ICWAI – final group III).

I got my evaluations done by FACS. I registered with Maine State. They didn't had any residency requirements. I believe for students from India, Maine state should a perfect match for you to sit for the exams.

Please let me know if you need further info.

    Thanks
