So I failed FAR and scheduled it again for March 8th. I spent the last couple weeks avoiding study, just to get away from it a while. But I plan to pick it back up tomorrow. Happy New Year :p

The idea is to wake up early every morning (like 4 or 5 AM) for the next 60 days and do 2 hours of study before work. Rise and grind.

Except…what in the heck do I spend those 2 hours on? Re-watching Wiley’s videos? Re-reading all the text? MCQ after MCQ after MCQ? Flashcards? SIMs?

It’s one thing to study the first time, but I mean what do you do the 2nd time? Especially since I already failed, what does a guy gotta do differently?

I would start from scratch with emphasis on your weak areas. Unless you failed with a 70 or something, then I would focus on doing more Mcq if you scored weak there or more on sims if you did weak there.

I'm also attempting to schedule for far either end of Feb or early March. March seem so far away but I plan to do at least 25 hours a week, not counting non-stop audio or flash cards. I'm starting from scratch. I am doing an assessment of what I know then go from there. I have my 2019 ninja notes and audios and am going to go at it. I was going to give up altogether, but that felt too PUNKISH. So here I am trying again, and going to do much better at study….NO SHORT CUTS. You can do this Docj…just start somewhere.

I personally don’t feel like videos are that helpful. You need to read and visualize the material, hand write notes to further reinforce the material and practice problems to put it all together. For FAR, I recommend carefully reviewing the AICPA blue print, making sure you’re caught up on all of the new rule changes, and pay very close attention to the wording of the instructions for SIMs. Make sure you also master the search tool for the authoritative literature question. Good luck!
