    Hey guys,

After months of studying I am taking FAR on saturday. I score between 75 % and 80 % on my Becker Progress tests and generally feel as though I have a strong grasp on the material. Any tips from people who took it recently?

    Thanks

Nope never took it but wow you're scores are pretty good! I've read a lot of forums on how Becker questions are a lot more harder so you should be okay. How did you prepare for FAR anyway?

Have you looked at the SIMS-I would maybe review some of those and do some Skills practices and just keep doing random sets of progress tests to keep info fresh. good luck!

I took it April 2. I agree with @anyatver. Assuming that you've done many MCQs, do some practice SIMS. This will get you accustomed with the flow and general feel of answering various SIMs. This will hopefully improve your proficiency in answering them in a timely manner. Remember, knowing the concepts is only half the battle. Time management plays a huge factor. Good Luck!!

@hieutnguyen22 Keep in mind im referring to progress tests, which are just multiple choice from every chapter, not the mock exams. The mock exams I did far worse on, but ive learned from them, which from what ive read is all that matters. For studying I made sure to take extensive notes on a word document, that way whenever I had a question about any journal entry, how something should be valued etc. I could just control F and find it. Other than that, repetition and many many hours. Mae sure you actually understand, and dont take shortcuts. Best of luck!

Becker MCQs are much more difficult than the actual exam. Just make sure that you actually understood the material, and not just memorized the answers. You should also make sure to practice the sims since a lot of people here seem to struggle with them in the actual exam. Lastly, don't forget that you can use the Authoritative Literature during sims. If you aren't sure about some questions, it wouldn't hurt to look at the related guidance. I had one sim where I wasn't sure of the treatment of a certain item and a quick search through the AL got me the right answer.

Sounds like you will nail the MCQs. Make sure to do the skills and at least one SIM for each big topic. Also do the AICPA practice exam (practice exam will no doubt pay off).
