Anyone encountered technical issues with computer freezing during the exam?

This happened to me in back to back exams. Both were for BEC. I failed with a 74 the first time and passed with a 79 the second time. Not saying that I failed because of the glitch but it definitely didn’t help.

Were you able to get anything from NASBA as make up for the inconvenience like a free exam or possibly extensions for existing NTS’s?

    Thanks.

Mine froze during FAR and had to be restarted. I contacted them that night but never got a response back. I know somewhere in the forums other ppl had this issue too and posted what they heard back but i’m not sure where those are (i hunted after my far experience).

Did you have just BEC on your NTS or more than one section?

This has been discussed a few times…

I had four exam crashes during REG. I was instructed to write to NASBA, and was given some sort of incident number by the testing center. NASBA sent me a letter saying they'd look into it a couple of days later. I never received anything else, and I got my score on the nromal release date.

Another person this happened to received a letter from NASBA saying they could reschedule for free. They didn't pass.

It's not a marge enough sample size to judge from, but I think what happens is they check your score…if they think you passed, they blow you off. If they think you didn't, they tell you to-reschedule.

I profit from your CPE frustration. You're welcome.

I had 3 exams on the NTS: BEC/FAR/REG. I think they will probably just blow me off like you guys said since I retook it and passed the second time around. Thanks for the input.

In the last testing window I posted about this because my test crashed for Reg. Same thing happened to someone else. We both messaged candidate care and we both received the same response.

Was something along the lines of they have looked into the test thoroughly and verify that all answers to questions in all testlets have been captured and submitted… since all testlets were completed and all all answers were submitted there is a good chance that you may have passed. If after you receive your score you find out you did not pass, contact candidate care again as you may be eligible for a free retake.

Scores were released and both me and the other poster received passing scores.

Weird, above post shows me as a different account – not sure why it logged me on as NWat. But yes, that was the message I received, it took a couple of days. I don’t understand your post though because you said you passed… what are you hoping to achieve if you passed your exam?

My last day to take FAR is on 2/14 before my NTS expires so I was trying to buy a few more weeks (until early March) but it didn't work. If you run into computer issues and you think that may have adversely affected your performance on the exam (i.e. lost work done in excel etc.), you only have 5 days from the exam date to file a complaint. After 5 days, they won't provide any accommodations.

What I should have done was to complain immediately after taking BEC the first time and probably could have gotten a free retake with BEC since I was so close with the 74; I didn't even know they provide accommodations like that. Oh well – it is what it is.
