Test Center closing

Sigh, I found out my go to test center is closing at the end of December 🙁 After finding 0 appointments on their quarter 1 calendar, I called and was told they were closing permanently. The location still appears when searching for seat availability. I got 2 passing grades at this location and had developed a comfortable test day routine.

I know some people have experienced issues with the location being closed on the day they arrived due to weather, construction, etc. Has anyone showed up at prometric to find out their test center was permanently closed? With the Q2 changes, I’m hoping to knock out my remaining 2 exams by March.

That stinks, as I've never heard of a testing center closing. I thought standardized testing was too big of a moneymaker for that to happen. The only advice I have for you is try to do everything you can to get comfortable with whatever location you take your remaining exams at. I don't even consider myself a “Type A” but I went all out trying to get used to Prometric before I sat for my first exam. I took the tour beforehand, figured out what locker I'd try to get, and made sure I planned to get there an hour early even though it was 10 minutes from my house. If your new location is more than a couple hours away, I'd even recommend spending the night in a hotel that's close to the location. Eliminate as many possible delays as you can. Good luck!

Maybe they are moving to somewhere nearby? I know when I looked it up a few months before I started testing, it appeared that I was working in a building where a Prometric center was. Huge coincidence. Then when I finally went to schedule my test turned out they moved a few blocks away. I don't know how the hell they had tests at my old office building. At least once a month there were super loud fire drills. Like so loud you could hurt your eardrums and would go on for 5-10 minutes. Then start up again for 5 minutes.

When I first started taking the exams there was a testing center about 10 minutes away. I took a year or so off and when I started back up again, that center had been closed. There is a still a testing center in my city, it's just about a 45 minute drive now.
