    NINJA Question –

    Hi Everyone:
Although I didn’t post here regularly, I would like to share my experience with anyone that wants to read it. I started my CPA journey last year around this time and I had a goal to complete the exam in 6 months (it didn’t happen because of life, however if you tally up the months I studied for each exam it really took six and a half)! While researching different CPA exam prep companies I stumbled upon A71 and the NINJA exam review. Thank God I did!

I decided to buy NINJA product after reading Jeff’s story (I found it admirable that he was able to keep up with his church commitments and family). I bought the NINJA Ten point combo while Jeff had his amazing BOGO sale going on. For each exam, I only copied the NINJA notes, listened to NINJA audio (My favorite was AUD when Jeff went over TIMMAYYY and his little sister) and NINJA MCQ (I practiced SIMS for AUD but once I took the exam, I ditched all practice SIMS).

Now my scores are not the greatest, but they are all passing and it only took one try each exam! Here’s how long I studied and my exam results.
Keep in mind that I made sure to get to the review stage for each section.

My study days were mostly M-W from 6pm-10pm.

    AUD: December – January Tested January 16th – 76
    BEC: January-February Tested February 27th – 75

In March, I was in a wedding so I looked at nothing CPA related for the month

    REG: April – May Tested May 28th – 76

OK, I might have taken an extended summer break here.

    FAR: September – Tested Oct 1st – 79

All in all, NINJA product works! For FAR I bought the NINJA plus software with the late and great Bob Monette and those videos are amazing! I wasn’t into the 40 hour lectures per section, or the highlighting and underlining (it works for some people). Bob was a great teacher. And the handouts he referred to were not missed at all! I wish they were available when I first started, I probably would have included those in my studying.

My advice to anyone taking the exam is TRUST IN GOD. Have faith in Him and know that you HAVE to get your CPA license which means that you HAVE to finish the exam. God is going to help you get there. Just trust Him.

Thank you Jeff, for being obedient to God’s plans for your life and starting what is now (to me at least)the BEST CPA review program, there’s nowhere but up from here. God bless your company and your family. Thank you A71 community for posting questions and the constant support to others. I wish you all the best! Now to get to 150 hours. Any suggestions?? They are greatly appreciated!!

    Be blessed.

Congratulations! I hope to finish my tests in the first week of December. The 150 credit hours is absolutely ridiculous! The extra 30 credit hours don't even have to be related to accounting. Can someone explain the purpose of the 150 credit hour requirement because it seems like another money grab for educational institutions. I am in Pennsylvania and luckily I passed one part the the CPA exam before they adopted the 150 credit hours therefore I only need 120 credit hours.

@TryingtoCPA16 – Congrats! This is an inspiring post… I've been at this thing for the longest time, and am finally 1/2 way there! I'm waiting on my REG score however (its a retake from Aug, score releases is Nov 22) and I'm currently studying for FAR on Dec 10th. Really just praying that I will see a REG pass on Nov 22nd!

So are you saying you only studied 3 days a week, 4 hours a night?? You mention M-W, 6pm-10pm.

As a side note, I'm happy to hear your trust in God and giving glory to him for this! I think for the longest time I've been trying to pass this thing on my own, my way, but this year I've really truly been doing my best to give it to him, and solely attribute my passing AUD in Jan and BEC in May to his favor and glory!

@bucknell39 you are so lucky! I have the experience and the exams done now all I need is the credit hours. I am working on that pronto! And yes I don't understand it either, especially those with accounting degrees!

    @TXCPAGAL12
Thank you! And you are almost there. Just keep your faith. and I'm rooting for you. You will receive a passing score on the 22nd.
Yes, I only studied 3 days a week . If I didn't have ministry on the weekends I would study on some Saturdays and sundays too but nothing substantial.
Thank you! If it wasn't for God I would not be where I am today. I trusted Him throughout this entire process. We often times think we can do things on our own but we are mistaken. God bless you and I will check on you on the 22nd. Praying for you!

I really wish I could afford the NINJA 10 point combo but I am thinking for my last section of the exam (FAR), I am going to purchase NINJA MCQ, Audio and Notes. I used the NINJA notes for AUD and read through probably 4 times and wrote them twice and it helped reinforce certain concepts of the exam I took on Friday. I have a 30 min commute each way to and from work and the Audio would come into play big time. Anyone else pass FAR on the first try with these NINJA Products?

Your intelligence has nothing to do with your score!  It's a matter of dedication, study habit and how well you test.

AUD- 64 (Retake 1/2)-Waiting on score

    BEC- 82 (2x)

    FAR-May 2018
