I remember when I was in high school my math teacher told us to always rewrite our notes, and rewrite them again, and that it would just remain in our brain that way.. I was young and stupid back then so I never took him up on it. I bought your ninja notes and there it was that advice again…wow is it the best advice! It is the ONLY reason I passed any of these exams. The MCQ help tremendously, wiley is wonderful (for the most part), but your ninja notes are such a great way to review and rewrite. I don't think anyone should take their exam if they don't leave enough time to rewrite their notes or the ninja notes.
I found out I passed FAR last night, and I never in my life thought I could pass it.. I truly thought I was too stupid to pass FAR. The others were do able (in my opinion) but FAR was real.. it was accounting, and I just thought I was too dumb OR NEVER going to comprehend all the material. WELLLLL I did it, and all the mental breakdowns, dramatic prayers to God, and the studying, it was all worth it.
I know this sounds soooo crazy, but even looking back I am glad I failed some sections, it taught me so much about myself. I learned I don't give up, I always thought when the going gets tough.. I walk away. I bounced back every time, even with tears I didn't let myself quit.. I do have another, but if history is any indication, my trending score, and 2 week review time, that I'm not even worried about passing it.
I truly feel like I am done, FAR makes me feel like I can do anything in this field. OKAYYYY I had to do this post, I've just been crying all day from the shock that it is done and that i have one more and that one more is going really well study wise.
I know I have one more, but passing FAR is and always will be my biggest educational accomplishment.February 7, 2017 at 10:53 am #1472765
Also, to the person who said they woke up the morning of my exam and said a prayer for me, I TRULY thank you for that (I forgot your username lol). It made me feel so much better when I was done. I really love this community and it has helped me stay sane. Thank you to all the people who contribute here, it really is a blessing to have this place.February 7, 2017 at 11:04 am #1472771
I remember we took FAR the same time for q4 and was saddened when I saw you didn't pass. I'm glad you got it the second time! Great job not letting it bring you down and being able to pass it immediately after not getting it the first time!February 7, 2017 at 11:48 am #1472814
Thank you, Chris!! I am soooooo glad I don't have to open that book ever again. ONE MORE, and the studying is going great. I'm so thrilled.February 7, 2017 at 12:08 pm #1472862
Failing these tests really does test your mental toughness. You will be a stronger person when you become a CPA than before you started this journey. Feel proud!
How did you feel coming out of your second try? I remember you said you felt confident coming out the first try.February 7, 2017 at 12:15 pm #1472868
congratulations!February 7, 2017 at 12:17 pm #1472880
I love posts like this. Congrats to you on overcoming The Beast! Please celebrate your freedom, and then re-join the forum…or at least stop by from time to time 🙂
Congrats on being DONE!!!

Thank you, Jeff and anytver.
Chris.. I didn't want to say it because I knew if I passed it would make ppl believe I was just being an ass saying I did bad but I passed, but I felt like shit coming out of the second one. I just felt defeated.. I thought “WOW the first one was so easy and up my alley, had I studied more that the first one would have been a breeze, but this one, it was brutal”.. the first one I knew every governmental question (Which is why I probably even got the 72 – I was stronger in that area on the report), on this one I froze and thought I messed up governmental.. It was either barely passing or barely failing, but I felt like I failed.
It really is true that saying, if you felt like shit coming out of it you probably passed lolFebruary 7, 2017 at 12:45 pm #1472910
Omg yea that was exactly how I felt coming out of FAR. It was the most terrible feeling having to tell people that it wasn't looking good and then being questioned about whether you studied hard enough when obviously you do. Then somehow you pass!
And it's okay haha I think many people genuinely feel like they did fail the exam and then some how pass so it doesn't make you an ass.
Congrats again! Hopefully you finish BEC this quarter and be finished. Maybe it really is better to get the harder exams…February 7, 2017 at 12:54 pm #1472937
Congrats! One more to go!!February 7, 2017 at 12:58 pm #1472948
I agree. NINJA notes are a must purchase. I usually write about 7 pages a day (yes – it takes awhile to do) but this is the best way for me to learn. Some sections I am taking my own notes as I go through the MCQ's.February 7, 2017 at 1:46 pm #1472991
Good job! Go crush BEC and then you're done!February 7, 2017 at 1:59 pm #1473015
Congratulations @CHR1437 ,well done.February 7, 2017 at 2:07 pm #1473023
Congrats! Keep at it!February 7, 2017 at 2:07 pm #1473029
Congratulations CHR1437!! I remember reading one of your posts before your first FAR exam (I was studying for FAR as well) and pulling for you. I was bummed to see you didn’t pass. SO happy for you that you got it a second time, I think it takes a lot of courage and mental toughness to fail and take it again. Enjoy this moment and best of luck on studying for your last exam!February 8, 2017 at 9:40 am #1473865
@CHR1437 That was me praying for you!!! I've been checking the forum the last two days non-stop waiting to see if you passed. I didn't see anything from you so I was so afraid you didn't pass again. I'm so happy to hear you passed, you deserve it. Your work ethic, attitude, and determination really paid off for you.
Can't wait to see you post that you passed BEC! 🙂February 8, 2017 at 10:03 am #1473891
Thank you soooo much everyone! Everyone here has helped me so much.
Vee, you are so damn sweet. Thank you sooooo much for all your prayers and checking in to see if I passed.. That means so much to me. I will pray with everything I have that you pass Aud. Thank you again for your kind words and prayers!!February 8, 2017 at 10:08 am #1473892
Congrats!February 8, 2017 at 10:45 am #1473927
For some reason I thought you were done – you just hadn't updated your sig for BEC. Glad you'll be sticking around a little while longer 🙂February 8, 2017 at 11:10 am #1473954
Jeff, honestly even when I'm done I love this forum too much to just go away.. It's the only website I visit since I don't have social media..I've become addicted to itFebruary 8, 2017 at 11:28 am #1473981
shawn in VAParticipant
to the OP –weren't you the one that was studying like 7 hours a day for several weeks ? Not to sound mean, but I think anyone could pass if the devote that much time to any one part.
Contrats though! I hear FAR is difficult.February 8, 2017 at 12:22 pm #1474057
Shawn.. Thanks?February 8, 2017 at 12:38 pm #1474074
How would you compare AUD to FAR? I am studying for AUD right now after finishing BEC and FAR and seem to think the material is very different because of the lack of math. Did you find it easier to learn? Did you have prior experience in auditing in real life? I also struggled with FAR so I want to know what your opinion is on the difference / any tips?February 8, 2017 at 1:16 pm #1474134
Guitar man, AUD was the first one I attempted and for some reason I didn't struggle with it. The sims were very easy to me and the questions seemed straight forward, I may have been blessed with an easier exam but I really enjoyed studying for auditing because the concepts were easy to nenorize and understand.. I've never audited or been in auditing, but I've always wanted to do it, so maybe I was excited to learn it?
FAR wasn't hard for me but remembered everything was a lot. Every section made sense because I've been a staff accountant for a few years, so I've seen some version of what I was learning, It just got to be too much info though.. so I think FAR is called the beast because of the amount of Info not the hardness of it. It's accounting, it makes sense to us. What really helped me isn't ninja MCQ. Everytime I finished a topic I went Tom the MCQ's and didn't a round of that those. IF somethin didn't make sense I obviously went back and read the book.
If you take FAR and apply it to real life as much as possible it will help. Especially sims.
Truly truly use the MCQ ninja, and know government like it's your life, it will save you!!
I used Siri to write this cause I can't use my hands write now so if it doesn't make sense I'm sorry!February 26, 2017 at 12:10 pm #1498789
Bump, because I have similar feelings as the OP and I'm still on cloud nine (and am in disbelief) that I passed FAR and am done with the CPA exam.
It feels weird not to be listening to the FAR NINJA audio on my drive to work anymore.
Thank you Jeff!February 26, 2017 at 12:27 pm #1498803
Save me a seat on that cloud…I hope to join y'all in a few weeks.
I read these posts for motivation before I settle into my daily study sessions. I have to remind myself to keep a positive attitude and push any self-doubt to the side. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right.”
Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your victory laps. 🙂
