In honor of another71, I am challenging all of the future CPA's on this board to a 710 daily MCQ battle. I will be starting tomorrow, pause and feast on Thursday, and restart on Friday and continue thru the weekend.
My goal is 710 MCQs on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a total of 2,840 MCQs.
I will be using Wiley and CPA Mastery for MCQs and it will be for the BEC section.
I will be providing status updates with my MCQ count throughout the days.
Please join me in this challenge! Good luck to you all on your studies and have a Happy Thanksgiving!November 21, 2017 at 7:41 pm #1666060kayParticipant
I like it, but there's no way I can do that many in a day I struggle to hit 100+ but I'm also studying Bec and will be in final review mode starting Thursday. Finishing the cost accounting section tomorrow. My plan is to watch the video lectures and do the book questions. Over the long weekend. I will have done all 1400 MCQs my test back offered by tomorrow. Then go back to my software Monday and do a bunch of Sims, and about 30-60 MCQs per day.November 21, 2017 at 7:51 pm #1666061SkynetParticipant
I'm going to be chomping on a Turkey Drunstick and drinking Gravy from a mug while watching you guys sweat it out with those MCQ's. And yes it is not a typo. I will be drinking Gravy out of a Mug!November 21, 2017 at 8:38 pm #1666120AnonymousInactive
710? Do you learn a single thing from them? I feel like I wouldn't have time to read through them at all!
I'm setting a goal for the weekend (starting tomorrow) of 700 MCQs for the ENTIRE weekend.
Congrats on already winning the challenge…that hasn't started…!November 21, 2017 at 8:48 pm #1666123BourneParticipant
What's this CPA Mastery you speak of? Worthwhile downloading the app? I've never heard of it.November 21, 2017 at 8:50 pm #1666124AnaParticipant
I could never do more than 200 a day. Congrats on winning lolNovember 21, 2017 at 10:56 pm #1666181Sweet<3 soon to be CPAParticipant
Curious if this was your strategy for FAR? Which exam are you currently working on now?November 22, 2017 at 7:33 am #1666262AnonymousInactive
Yeah I am working on FAR and the questions in Becker chapters 1-7 take much longer than AUD and REG (in my opinion). I am shooting for somewhere in the realm of 150-200 per day!November 22, 2017 at 8:18 am #1666277AnonymousInactive
While the more MCQ the better, make sure you're actually doing something about what you're getting wrong and not just trying to hit your target number. I did max 150/day but always reread the sections of questions I got wrong to make sure I don't get them wrong again.
Good luck!November 22, 2017 at 8:55 am #1666285Me.Participant
I am retaking FAR on 12/10 and I am trying to get through 450 of “problem” questions this 4 day weekend, my goal is to understand why they are problem questions because I want to be done this quarter!November 22, 2017 at 10:13 am #1666312DTXCPAParticipant
710 MCQs a day and that too for BEC? You do realize that most finance and cost accounting questions take 2-3 mins each, right? Anyway, good luck with that! If you can even make it to 400 MCQs a day give yourself a pat on the back, because that would be an achievement.November 22, 2017 at 11:39 am #1666375Accounting AdamParticipant
If you studied for 12 hours straight, no breaks, no bathroom – you'd have to average 1 minute & 1 second per question – assuming a seamless transition between tests and no review.
Anyway.. dreams are born in misery and accomplished through anguish!November 22, 2017 at 11:46 am #1666376IwannabeaCPA2017Participant
Bro, good intention but lemme say this I studied 5 hour yesterday and was only able to hit 200 MCQ. 710 would be a bit of a stretch LOL. But its good that you made this post! Good luck. AUD may be possible but no way in hell would FAR be.November 22, 2017 at 11:48 am #1666385ReckedParticipant
I didn't want to be the first one to point out the logistics on the math of this challenge.
~12 hours of MCQ's, that's roughly 3-4 8balls a day?November 22, 2017 at 7:30 pm #1666631AnonymousInactive
Lol. This must be a joke. I hope you have some adderal or cocaine to do that many MCQ’s! I don’t recommend either of them btw!!
Goodluck.November 23, 2017 at 1:09 am #1666798
You guys are funny! Attempting to go thru 710 questions in one day is tough! That's why it's a challenge! A challenge that I failed on my first go around! LOL.
I was able to go thru 395 questions. Here are my stats:
Corporate Governance = 83 MCQs = 84%
Economics = 85 MCQs = 75%
Financial MGMT = 127 MCQs = 56%
IT = 100 MCQs = 48%
In that order! So, I suffered from diminishing returns!! That's an average of 64%, so I have a ways to go.
My first go around of all of the MCQs is more for exposure. Once I go thru all of them, I will then work on my trouble questions and take my time.
CPA Mastery is a fine app! The questions seem legit, and are tough. I also like how you can sort them out by the ones you know and don't know.
Hopefully someone will take on the challenge and succeed! Good Luck!November 23, 2017 at 2:10 pm #1667087
I was able to get in 142 MCQs today before the feasting begins. Here are my stats:
IT – 92 MCQs = 71%
Operations Management – 50 MCQs = 60%
Total MCQS = 537
Grade = 65%
Minimal improvement – the progression continues….November 23, 2017 at 4:21 pm #1667176Starved_WolfParticipant
Glad to know i'm not the only one studying on Thanksgiving.
Champhex-710 is an insane amount of mcqs to do in a day haha. Good luck to you! When will you be taking your exam?November 23, 2017 at 5:18 pm #1667198MrsEarlaRiopelParticipant

I know I am a bit late with the “Thanksgiving Weekend MCQ Challenge”. But I'll try to match up with you at 2,840+ MCQS in 8 days! I am kind of slow. Writing Notes while answering MCQs.
Though it's my final review (sort of), but I'm still in the ‘studying mode' at the same time. I start writing FAR/REG/BEC actual exams in a week time.
My goal is to finish all my Ninja MCQs then, FAR (1,639 MCQS) + REG (1,671 MCQS) + BEC (1,315) = Total 4,625.
So far, I am done 50+% MCQs (without redo Qs), with redo at least an extra 25%+. Basically, I have done a total of 3,424 MCQs (with redo MCQs), for the 3 sections (FAR/BEC/REG).
My goal is to do all MCQs for 3 sections (FAR/REG/BEC) just the day before each actual exam.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!:)November 23, 2017 at 5:42 pm #1667201Sir PlusParticipant
Is this a prank?November 23, 2017 at 7:47 pm #1667213kayParticipant
@earla I've been wanting to ask you why you sit for the exams all at once. I know your a foreign candidate living in Canada but have you thought about tackling one or two each trip you make to the US? I know your trying to get the most bang for your buck with travel costs + the cost of the exams. But it seems if you broke down the money you've lost by taking exams while not being prepared because your also taking 2+ other exams in the same weeks span it probably would have been more cost effective to take one or two test per trip ad have a solid shot at passing them compared to taking 4 or now 3, congrats on your Aud pass.
I'd imagine your success rate would go up if you had taken just 2 each trip instead of all 4 like you did in Q1 and Q3. And for Q4 limiting your efforts to either Far or Bec and Reg would have been more effective. I wish you luck but tackling 3 successfully in just a matter of days seems impossible. I'd think I would confuse topics like partnership basis for far and reg.November 25, 2017 at 2:14 am #1668379
A man can dream 🙂
I have yet to hit that 710 mark in one day. I know someone out there is capable of doing it!
Today I was able to get thru 289 questions. I went 188 for 289. That equals 65%. So my overall average this weekend remains the same. I've been working thru trouble questions which doesn't help with my batting average.
Total MCQs this weekend = 826
I am sitting for the exam on 12/9; only 2 weeks away!November 26, 2017 at 3:09 pm #1669060ReckedParticipant
I was able to get 120 AUD MCQ's in today before I was just reading the question over and over again with nothing sinking in.
I think I've hit my wall.November 27, 2017 at 8:35 am #1669472
I know how you feel @reckedracing
Final tally = 1,132 MCQs over 5 days = 226/day
Overall score = 63%
Didn't do many repeat questions; used Wiley, CPA Mastery, and CPA review for free
I fell short of my goal, but I did shoot for the moon and landed on the clouds, so it's all good.
Good Luck to you all in your studies!
