Timing for each section ???

I’ve been allowing 45 minutes per MCQ section in my practice exams, but it requires reading the question quickly and sometimes I overlook details that cause me to make mistakes.

Is it safe to allow 50 minutes per MCQ section, or will that cut my time for SIMS too short??

I test tomorrow – 2/27, so thanks for your feedback!!

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

That would leave you an hour and a half for the SIMS. I would try to shoot for 2 hours on SIMS. Keep in mind that the length of the MCQ questions may be shorter on the exam. The review courses tend to be very wordy and less straight forward than the actual exam. You may not need 45-50 minutes per MCQ section. Good luck tomorrow!!

    Thanks so much –

It's extremely encouraging to hear that the exam questions are less wordy than the practice questions.

However, also hearing that I need to do them even FASTER than I'm doing them now, is scary.

In fact, in my practice exams, the SIMS have been very short and basic. I was finishing the tests about an hour early! I'm convinced that I have not been getting SIMS in the practice exams that represent the actual exam very well.

I'm very, very nervous about the SIMS portion!!

Thanks for your feedback and your prayers!

Allocating about 1.5 minutes for each MC worked for me on FAR and REG. I ran out of time on BEC by about 2 minutes, I could not finish one SIM. Had way too much time left on AUD with over two hours left when I got done.

I used WTB and the time I spent on each questions were fairly comparable. I ended up slightly faster on the actual because I chose to move on and not dwell on questions I did not know the answer to.

So for me, I would say WTB time is a good representation of the actual time give or take a few minutes.

    Good luck on your exam!

My best advice is to be confident in your answer choice. Pick the best answer and move on. If you have know idea what the answer is then make a good guess and move on. Don't waste time rethinking questions.

I averaged 45 sec a question when i worked beckers hw's. I finished the MC on Far in 1.5 hrs which is a little to quick but it didn't hurt my score. I think 2 hours for the sims is just right. It helps to have time to use the AL. One of my non-research questions was cut out from the illustrative examples. Same numbers and everything.

@bae-bae i didn't realize there were actual illustrative examples in the AL. I actually am hoping to use the AL more in-depth this time. I didn't really use it last time and guess what I scored weaker in, SIMS!!! Good luck on AUD today!

    REG - 2/27/2013 - 78!!!!
    AUD - 5/17/2013 - 72...Retake July 12th - 79!!!!

    FAR - 11/14/2013- 72....Retake February 28th - 80!!! DONE!!!!
