Hi All,

I took a break from the CPA in late 2016 due to moving and honestly couldn’t deal with the continued failures as I noticed I was just going through the motions. After being passed up on two different jobs due to not having my CPA, I’m now motivated again to pass this exam as I feel I will have a difficult time moving up in this field without it.

I have the 2016 Becker materials, is it necessary to buy the new books for FAR in order to prepare for the exam in Q4 2017? I plan on starting my studies again on Monday 9/23/17. I know the exam has changed since 2016 but has the material changes drastically enough where I’ll need the new books? Thank you for your help!

I would get a new book just make sure you have the most up-to-date materials. Becker course has changed since 2016 so you might be at a disadvantage if you are using old materials.
