I just took it this morning. It’s harder than expected. Testlets were moderate-hard-hard. I felt like there were a lot of unsure questions. Especially some IT topics were not covered by Becker. Written communication was Okay. My third one was shorter because I run out of time.

I am really nervous. My Becker practice exams were 88 & 74. However, I did not have the same feelings in the real exam compared to the practice exams. As I said, there were a lot of unsure questions. I think some of the topics in the real exam were not even covered by Becker.

I really want to pass it. It’s my first exam. If I fail it’s gonna hit my confidence.

I can vouch for what the original poster said. A71 can't gauge how I did.

I took it this morning as well. Most of the IT questions were nowhere to be found in Becker. The most off the wall things you could think of. But it was a fair exam. Can't expect a review course to cover everything.

There were some other topics that were a no show in the review book and I only remembered them from Cost Accounting.

All I'll say is I would have taken FAR or Audit again before this BEC exam. It was a very out of left field exam aside from the calculations.

I also did not pay attention to testlet difficulty(waste of time), but the questions got more obscure for sure.

Exam was fair. No crying about it. It's my last one. Score release is in 10 days. Not gonna worry a damn about it, because it's pointless.

How can you say it was a “fair” exam when you also said questions were ” left field” . Seems like contradictory statements.

Best of luck. I have a retake MAR 10 and keeping my fingers crossed for an easy exam version

plus you said Becker did not cover some topics?!? at $3,000 review course I would be very upset and asking for refund

It's the CPA exam. If it were easy, then the credential would be worthless. Because I didn't know the answer, doesn't make it less fair. I did my best with the resources I had, which is what the real world is.

No sweat. We'll see March 10th.

I took the exam this morning too and haven't ever felt this bad about the results. Felt like I totally bombed it. I prepped really hard for this one. I took it once already last year and scored a 62. I scored an 89 on the practice exam last week. So I'm not really sure what to think.

Took it this morning and I agree that it was fair and wasn't tricky. I used Gleim and felt that IT was covered well.

did either of you use Roger or Wiley Test bank for IT part of BEC ? Starting to get nervous that ppl are saying IT was heavily tested.

I hear ppl say all the time the license is so “prestigious” . it is so prestigious that the AICPA gives people 74's b/c they really passed but cannot give them a 75 + b/c they need to maintain this so called “prestige” and pass only 45% approx of candidates. And they can get away with it b/c there is NO TRANSPARENCY. It is not like we get our exam back to study from it.

If you give a decent effort like in high school or college then you deserve a 75. Let the over achievers get the 90+

the prestige excuse is garbage…there is a shortage of CPA's at least around where I live. MANY old timer CPAs are retiring and not enough once to replace. Also you got the “churn and burn” philosophy of BIG 4 and regional firms that “use and abuse” their CPAs for the first 5 years out of school then they move onto private and work 40 hrs a week b/c of total burnout from working at BIG 4 .

I agree the test was fair, but there were some topics that I had not covered. The questions were shorter than Becker's. Took the best guess, hope I can pass.
