WA Ethics Exam

Just wanted to rant, I spent 5 hours of my day so far failing this stupid exam twice now (83 & 83 – need a 90). I get one or two more tries before I’m forced to take a 2 week ‘study-break’ from it. The questions are so deceptive, they have everything word for word and then throw in one little extra thing to make you question the entire statement. I did very well on the CPA Exam and from what I’ve heard the AICPA Ethics Exam is much more straightforward than this one so I’m gonna move on to that now. I just hate this dumb test they’re making me do over and over due to a handful of questions that you have to just guess at.

    WA State Ethics Exam - 83, 83, 90 (9/17)

    AICPA Ethics Exam - 95 (9/17)

    1-year of work - complete (11/18)

I just took it and failed too with an 87! Just one question wrong! That is crazy. How did you take it again so quickly? I emailed them requesting a retake and they have not gotten back to me. So frustrating.

They responended to me after a couple hours for a retake which I failed again. Then I emailed again and didn't hear back until the next day. I went VERY slowly and had my wife double check everything I was answering (since half the questions are worded strangely) and still BARELY pulled off the pass with the minimum score. It's one last FU from the WA State Board before getting licensed. Annoyingly difficult.

    Good to know.

I have a long way ahead (6-18 months).
Another 18 months to prove to WA State of Accountancy (and the rest of the CPA Gods), that I deserved my spot as a licensed CPA.

Thanks for the info, and congratulations for being licensed.
