Was studying for far after a fail easier?

I’m still having clicks after my major bomb on far. I studied two plus months, jumped around, pretty much mastered all the big topics and just glazed over the small topics. BAD. IDEA. I didn’t ignore the small chapters, I watched videos on them, pretty much understood nothing and moved on. The small chapters then decided to become my best friend and hold my hand and dwindling hope during the cpa exam, popping in every forth question just to see if I was still breathing- right next to sister death gov and nfp. ( I knew those suckers!)
I switched review programs as I constantly found myself yelling at my computer while one particular teacher was teaching. Unfortunately, he taught most of the videos. I would tune out what he was saying as soon as I heard “OK, alright” . That phrase is still a joke in my house. Long story short: I detested my review course.
I switched to roger and got through chapter1 easily and then lost motivation. After you have failed a part, was studying again easier?
I threw out my notes and bought new flashcards. They mean nothing to me now I took WAY too many notes to begin with, and had well over 700 handwritten cards. I spent so much time PREPARING to study (cards, notes) that I actually never did study – mcq, mcq, mcq.

You studied wrong, pick yourself up, take a breath.

Start again on Wednesday, go to a park or something tomorrow.

We all have our own way of doing this thing, however most people use the mcqs.
There are all different ways of doing it, however all those ways involve mcqs.

It's not about the hours you spend, it's about how effectively you do the work. You will need the hours if you hope to pass, but they need to be your best hours, everytime!

Jeff now says you might want to do 80% mcq's 20% sims.
I basically do no sims, I look at the occasional video when I totally don't understand a section.

Right now I've done 54 hours of mcqs for this section in the last three weeks, I don't count audio files or videos or notes as part of my study time (Hell I rarely bother with notes, once in a while if I find something sticks out).

You have enough multiple choice from your review courses, no need to buy anymore.
Just keep track of your daily study hours and make sure you hit 20 hours a week.

Nobody is gonna hold your hand and drag you through.

For me restudying always seemed easier even though I dreaded restudying regardless. Luckily you've spent the time mastering the harder/bigger topics so it allows you time to digest areas you may have missed and drill down into the areas you know you need to work on. Depending on your comfort level that may require you to rewatch some lectures or dive straight into reviewing old notes/redoing multiple choice. I failed FAR my first time and restudied by rewatching FAR cram videos(mini review lessons) provided with my Yaegar CPA review course and redid multiples choice, sims, and practiced journal entries over the course of 5 weeks. Since I had a solid understanding the first time around, I just had to make sure I retained my knowledge and crank up my studying a little bit. You can do it!
