I am going to smoke a cigar and drink some of this good scotch that I’ve been saving.

    How about you? 🙂

I have an unopened bottle of Don Julio 1942 waiting for me when this is all said and done. I'm looking at a trip to Anguilla too.

I did the tax season thing, and then now I'm starting to kick up the job search. I'll relax this summer, apparently.

There was a lot of jumping up and down, a motorcycle endorsement class, then two days off over the course of the next 9 weeks comprising tax season mayhem. Tomorrow we are closing the office and I have a dentist appointment at 9am. I have NEVER been so exciting to go to the dentist, nor can I not remember a time I wasn't studying for something or another in the waiting room… so elated and disoriented at the same time 🙂

My terms are modest: automatic release from all spouse-imposed obligations, and sole control of all personal assets. It is a unilateral contract (with myself).

Here's the longer story: five days before FAR, my very last exam, I was in a car accident. The car was a total loss, I was completely fine (shaken up for a day). I took the exam, and started looking for a new car the next day. A few weeks later, I found a car I liked at a dealership, but also noticed they had a low-mileage Yamaha motorcycle. I told my wife that when I passed all the exams, I'm buying that motorcycle (ignoring the fact that I don't really have the room or an endorsement for it). Somehow, she wasn't convinced, even after reassuring her that the AICPA life insurance policy is really good.

I passed in March, but haven't been back for the motorcycle. With spring on the way, it's probably not there anymore…

Word of advice: make sure you have “reasonable” plans to celebrate.

Try to convince myself that it's reality and not a dream. It'll probably take a month for it to sink in that I actually passed.

LOL you're all too funny. The washer dryer takes the cake in my opinion.

And yes the proposal.. Thats too sweet.

IDK what I'll do. I don't actually think I'm going to pass it. I think I'm numb to seeing a failing score. I don't actually get upset or cry anymore. Its pathetic, I know. I honestly think I'm going to fail BEC and then I have to retake REG at which point CPA studying would become a permanent part of my life, not like it already isn't, but maybe more so? So I don't think that day will actually come for me. I don't even tell anyone (outside of my husband) I'm studying for the CPA, its embarrassing because the responses would be “wow still?” or “you're STILL studying thought you'd be done by now”.

I tell my kids I go to the mall each time I leave to go study at starbucks which is almost nightly and all weekends. I mix it in sometimes with grocery shopping. They're going to grow up thinking I have problems.

The first thing I will do is thank God I made it through the storm!!Then I'll have a much needed drink, plan a vacation, plan a bonfire to burn all my notes, and binge watch all the shows I've missed.

I've had one of those tiny bottles of wine sitting in my fridge for months…haven't drank it bc I'm afraid of 1. Getting sleepy and losing study time and 2. Wake up with a headache and losing study time…so….I'll finally drink my wine!
