It's not hard, but I wouldn't call it a layup either. I suggest ordering the PDF version of the study material / exam and using “ctr-f” to look for keywords in the questions. Passing first time is 100% doable.

What state are you in? In California we have to take the ethics exam that the state society administers. It's unnecessarily hard.

its hard BUT relative to the exams (which has that 18 month pressure cooker time frame where you lose out on credit), its not stressful. its open book so the answers are “available” but the questions are like mental gymnastics sometimes to make sure you dont trip yourself over. Essentially, take your time (i did 5-10 questions per day)…and review as much as possible and note which pages you think you found the relevant sections in the ethics book you get, and review. Rinse repeat if needed. In short, its hard but not stressful like the CPA exams.

-Buy NINJA mcq (68% trend), and
-PRINT trouble topics.

-Also Used WTB mcq (68% trend).
-Do 40-50 SIMs and read answers/try to learn from solutions like its a book example.
-Lastly, when having trouble with same topic, go big picture and watch trouble lecture
