Wiley TBS AICPA Section Questions – AUD

    I have the Wiley review course and I’ve noticed several TBS questions that require you to either insert or find the correct AICPA section code for the applicable reference. This has me somewhat confused since I’m curious how one would ever study or know what to expect on the exam. It seems very difficult to remember 5XX – AXX type references but there seems to be several of these questions in the TBS practice. Can someone shed light on this?

    This is a research question. They are testing your ability to find a certain topic in the authoritative literature (they're not expecting you to memorize where everything is). You'll see these in AUD, FAR, and REG using the respective authoritative lit for each one. Just practice a couple so that you know how to use the search bar in the authoritative lit to find what the question is asking for. (And note that the search function on the actual exam works way better than in Wiley.)
    And just in case you haven't seen this, when you get one of these questions in the TBS, the Authoritative Literature is a button at the top of the screen, next to the Calculator and Excel buttons.

    @MO – just a side note, the authoritative lit uploaded in Wiley is an abbreviated version that corresponds with the questions. You will start to pick up on how to easily scan through Wiley's uploaded lit, but I would recommend using the AICPA practice tests and looking at the lit they provide there. It will be a comprehensive version.
    The first time I took REG, I noticed the code was so much bigger than I was used to and it tripped me up for sure. Don't let that get in the way of, what can be, easy points.
