Hi guys, it is I… Roze, and – Clearlylost…

I just wanted to share some good news! I am studying with Wiley NOW… I graudated 6 years ago and I totally forgot that I Had PAID for a cpa review course as part of my MBA program! I can’t believe that I have access to it until I pass!

After struggling with Surgent, Wiley is like NIGHT and DAY…I know that it is what is best for each individual person, but I seriously cannot get over how good it is to be studying with something that is so logically organized and really motivates me. THe lectures are sincere and thorough and the way they can let you select the right answer after you have submitted the assessment and are going through the answers – the ones you got wrong – you can select the right one and it would be green – which is perfect for visual learners like me – I have photographic memory

    Anyways,

The main reason I am posting this is because I was asking them about ordering books and the lady replied saying that NEW bookes are coming out in 2-3 weeks, for the JULY EXAMS.

So I am just wondering now if some of the surprising content on those who just took REG has anything to do with it….

Surgent surely wasn’t talking about any updates..

Anyways. Good luck to you all, I’ll see you on the other side of the finish line.

Wiley has always had this option. This is why many opt for this instead of Becker and short lessons on Wiley is a plus. I use Wiley as well. I won't say it's the best material out there though. Each have pros and cons. Things that work for one person does not work for others. This is why many, on this forum, substitute theirs with Ninja, etc.

You should know, you have to pay for the books but the online materials are free with free updates until you pass. For REG, Wiley will update the content once available online. The book, like I said earlier, will have to be paid for. Anyways, good luck.

The content of the exams isn't changing, just a few tweaks on how it's being tested. Probably won't have any effect on Wiley, Surgent, or anyone else's review materials, but Surgent does discuss it

@Zeezee – thanks…I like the lectures on Wiley for sure…people with teaching experience are always a plus. I guess I just trust them more as they have been around for a lot longer…I'll definitely be supplementing with Ninja tho too during my final few weeks of review…
I guess I don't know exactly what those updates are all about, I just appreciate that they encouraged me to wait to order new books so that I get the updated ones.

BTW I'll bet this platform is full of cpa exam prep course marketing specialists.

I'm glad to hear Wiley is working better for you.
    .
When I used Wiley as a supplement to my Becker material, I had this massive Wiley book just full of multiple choice questions. I really disliked the way they explained the answers. The typical answer was like this:
    .
    A) The answer is $50,000 because [explains how to calculate answer]. B) Incorrect. See A. C) Incorrect. See A. D) Incorrect. See A.
    .
Whereas the Becker material I used would explain why B, C, and D were wrong. Something like “B is incorrect because you took into consideration ABC. ABC only applies to X situation. In this case, Y situation happened so you should utilize Z information and disregard the information you used to arrive at this answer.”
    .
Man, I could not stand that Wiley textbook!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes Wiley's explanation to the answers. Can't forget when A) is the correct answer because [insert answer A statement here], tell me why! I think that's why I prefer using Ninja MCQ over Wiley, I feel it has good explanations and does a better job showing where I'm weaker at.

What a journey! It took me 12 attempts, do not give up, keep going! Praise God!
