I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

I'm through it all. 3 and a half hours of solid study time. Later tonight after dinner, Government accounting. I really wish this section of the exam was excluded. I mean there's zero chance I ever take a job in government, so why should I learn about it?

On another note, I am going to bite the bullet and get NINJA Audio and MCQ for this section. Hopefully it will be enough to get me over.

    29 days until test day.

Just curious, is anyone else taking FAR soon?

Anyone else find it hard to study during the week? Im lucky if i can get 3-4 modules TOPS done during the work week but managed to power through all of F2 today. Starting F3 tomorrow and something tells me this chapter will take a power Sunday and probably most of the work week. ARE THERE ANY EASY CHAPTERS IN FAR!? SMH

Set for 106 MCQ’s today and 8 SIMS. About halfway through the MCQ’s for the day. Anyone else using the Blueprints the AICPA released to set up their study material from? All my troubled areas I am going through and making my own notes which I will accumulate over next 30 days and constantly review from. Hoping this is the most effective way to get through FAR as their is a great amount of material in this section.

Did 60 this morning then took a hard stop for breakfast and house work. Getting ready to do a 2 hour sprint to finish the equity chapter, then i have to run up the highway to check in on my parents for a few hours. Hoping to get through half of consolidations (while watching walking dead) tonight and some sims, then it'll be time to get ready for work 🙁

@mtaylo, I'll probably have my iPad out while watching Walking Dead tonight. Hopefully Negan lives!

On another note, I'm almost through Government Accounting l, and seriously…why in the blue hell is it this complicated and so heavily tested? Most of us are just going to cram it in and forget it once we pass. I think conceptual framework, bonds, and leases are much more worthy of being tested harder than this stuff. Ugh, and tomorrow it's NFP accounting. I'm seriously starting to despise the idea that these two little chapters out of thirty chapters make up 20% of the exam.

Hopefully everyone is having a better time than I am.

I watched Roger videos all weekend long. I was going to do MCQs today (my last round of about 200 questions before done with AUD study and starting my review of the whole thing starting from chapter 1) but……..decided to wait until tomorrow.

Today was a good day. Got through Corporate Taxable Income and found it way more approachable than Property Transactions. I think I can almost discern a light at the end of this tunnel called REG. I'm feeling optimistic.

Are we on for next weekend, too?

I'm debating doing REG next and leaving BEC for last. Not sure if that's gonna be a good move or not? I know more about tax than I do about the stuff in BEC. With the new format I think BEC now might be harder than REG.

@turbo – I think I read somewhere on here that govt/nonprofit is now only going to be lightly tested, at 8-10%. That would make more sense. On the old tests it was up to 25% although people on here were reporting that their test felt like about 50% government questions.

@Flore: I'm in for next week.
@Leon: I'll believe it when we can get some data points from test takers.

I saw on the Becker site that government is being tested at that clip of 10%, but there's a chance I can get all 10% of that wrong. Can't take any chances.
