I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

Just got through A2. Planning on doing some office work then getting a headstart on A3. It's a beautiful day out here in Chicago and it's so hard to stay in and study when all your friends are out golfing but I guess it will pay off someday.

Well, that's a wrap for me today. Got some good studies in from 9-4:45. I took a 30 minute lunch break (which was actually a shower) and stared out the window while I ate an English muffin for my second break. Finished up Corporate Tax Computations and I'm feeling pretty good – although, I did get a little turned around with the details of Personal Holding Company Tax, but I think I can manage. These power weekends are intense. I think they're supporting passes in a big way.

Tomorrow I'll start Corporate Tax Special Topics. I'd like to get a little exercise in, too. As for tonight, I'm going straight to the couch. I am absolutely exhausted.

Hope today was fruitful for everyone. Just think, our efforts today bring us one step closer to becoming licensed CPA's!

Glad you had a productive day, Flore. I haven't even opened my book today or fired up the MCQs. It's been an absolutely insane day in terms of my workload at work and for school.

No excuses though, I will get in at least two hours tonight, one way or another.

I actually went out and did some much needed things I've been putting off. It was so beautiful that I had to enjoy some time with my daughter and smile as I watched my son and husband tend to the yard work. Then, I took a nice nap. Small blessings. Now, it's go time for me. I've already knocked out 2 parts of section 4 in AUD. I'm not stopping until I complete all of section 4 because I need to do this. Though, as I study for this retake, I can't help but be a little upset with myself as I notice things I should've noted during my initial pass thru. I believe knowing these things would've helped me on the first go around, but I rushed it. No worries though. It's alllll good. I'm learning to not rush this process and to just keep at it. I hope everyone else is making significant progress as well.

I haven't really been worth anything today…only 47 questions. My son had t-ball opening ceremony and a 2 hour game, I crashed out afterwards, then went to dinner. I'm definitely aiming for 150 minimum tomorrow.

Well, it's finally the end of a looooooooooooooooooooooonnng day and night, I've only been able to put in three active hours at this point, 50 mcq's and 2 SIMS. The good news is that I feel like I'm in okay shape when it comes to roughly 1/4 of the material in the Roger book, the bad news is the other 3/4 is substantially more difficult.

I'll have a solid six hours of study time today before family arrives and I'm reduced to short five-mcq bursts while being present in spirit.

Happy studying! Hope we all can have a much more productive day today!

@mtaylo24 – I noticed FAR is your last exam – woo! But your test date is after your AUD expires? Are you just waiting for some seats to open up before your AUD expire date so you can get it in in time? REG is my last exam this Friday and my BEC expires at the end of this month. Then it's the waiting game til August. So anticlimactic to have to wait so long for potentially my last passing score.

Taking REG for the 5th time this week is such a drag. I have hashed this material so much and while I do feel ready for real this time, I'm just burnt out. But I'm crankin away at MCQ and some notes today. SIMs too. SIMS all week because I cannot be weak again in SIMs! SIMs will not ruin me again!

@cpa788 My Aud expires 5/31/17, I've had that in my sig for a while now, so now its probably causing confusion since we are approaching that date. Im trying my hardest not to take Auditing again…I hated that exam!

I slacked today. Barely made a dent in Corporate Tax Special Topics. I let myself get distracted by the weather – took a much needed long walk, got some meal prep done for the week and got some other domestic things taken care of. I kind of felt like a regular person. Except for the voice that kept admonishing me for not studying.

But! The day is not over and I will at least do focus questions on what I've covered so far.

@Tubosandwich: Sounds like you're on track to me.

@mtaylo24 – I think our timeline on A71 is pretty similar, and based on our expiration dates that makes sense haha. The world would seem cruel to not give you the pass on your 4th go of FAR. Best of luck studying! Then we sit around and wait til August. Which I'm sorta pumped for, because we'll have a mandatory summer of freedom. But I'm terrified for what August will bring.
