This post is 18 months old…..thanks for the replies but I’m long done with my exams. Not sure why @Fresh made it active again.
1skibumParticipant83 on BEC. Felt like I failed horribly. Done fo eva!
1skibumParticipantOk so this eyeball trick….when I look at my score from the November release all I see is the score, no eyeball. I don’t think I ever had an eyeball. I’m in Wisconsin if that matters. Waiting on BEC….I’ll be done if I somehow passed it.
1skibumParticipantI heard NASBA bugs prometric centers after hours. Since it’s a government org you’re probably in the clear for 6-12 months unless you’re a repeat offender.
1skibumParticipantI took BEC 2 weeks ago and I’ll concur that it was nothing like anything I’ve ever studied. I took it back in 2016 without studying and got an 85, then subsequently didn’t think I wanted to be a CPA lol. This time around it was nuts….I passed all the other exams without much of an issue when I studied too. 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll be done if I somehow pulled a 75.
1skibumParticipant@Amimalwithin Barely had any cost accounting on my exam either. I’m good at that too. Honestly walked out wondering wtf just went on because it was all Corp governance and foreign transactions/hedges.
1skibumParticipant@Amimalwithin I excel in complex Finance/Econ and there were maybe 3-5 questions max regarding those areas on my exam this week.
1skibumParticipantIt’s a crapshoot. I took it back in 2016 without studying and got an 85. Took it last week after using all the Becker material and felt dominated. I’ve scored 85+ on all the others with studying maybe 50 hours each, so I’m a good test taker. It’s my last so I hope I passed, but will be using Ninja if I didn’t. Good luck OP
1skibumParticipantI’m in the same boat, but I’ll lose REG 1/2020. Took BEC on Monday and it was a shit show. I passed in 2016 without studying and unfortunately lost credit….this time around it was awful. Good luck OP!
1skibumParticipantI don’t mean to sound harsh, but based on your scores I would re-evaluate your study habits and really assess how badly you want to become a CPA because something obviously isn’t working. At the end of the day if your head isn’t in it, no matter how much studying you do, it’s going to be hard to pass. Now if you indeed are trying as hard as you can, maybe you’re a person that needs more detail so something such as Wiley would be helpful. Study to understand the concepts, not to just get the questions correct. And lastly, a lot of this is a mind game. It’s not hard stuff, just don’t let the AICPA mess with your head. Good luck!
1skibumParticipantI can mirror your thoughts on the exam. I passed it in 2016 without studying, this time around I studied quite a bit and it was brutal. I normally finish with about an hour left and on this one I had 1 min left after rushing through the written questions. At this point all I can do is wait and see….it’s my last so I hope i passed!
1skibumParticipantHow did things turn out for those of you who took BEC? I took it on 9/10 and had a similar experience….actually walked out of the exam half way through. Somehow pulled a 67 without doing 2 sims or the writing….bad move on my part. I'm retaking it tomorrow and am starting to worry a bit.
1skibumParticipantFAR was easier than BEC for me, that’s for sure. 🤷🏻♂️
1skibumParticipantYeah that sounds about right. I was going to give up on the CPA exam, but unexpectedly passed FAR so I’m half done. I had 2 weeks to study for BEC so I kinda set myself for failure, but at least I know what to expect now. Gotta get AUD done, then I’ll retake BEC.
1skibumParticipantI took BEC this morning and got dominated. I panicked and walked out without doing the writing portion. Oh well.
