ChloeParticipantChloeParticipant
Thank you everybody. I've read all the comments with my husband last night and we will make a decision by early next week. My husband got laid off in March. He worked at a hotel; of course, no more job in a tourism industry with the state of the economy now. We live in Canada so thankfully, he is collecting emergency funds from the government which is $2,000. My husband is encouraging me to take the temp job since he's been seeing me that i am suffering from my current job and he said that we can live with unemployment insurance after my contract since the contract work pays me 25k more than my current job.
However, i am more worried about having a gap on my resume.Again, thank you for all your comments.

ChloeParticipantThanks for your opinion! They said it can be a perm position after the contract but I shouldn't rely on that right? I mean it is always two possibilities: no perm contract or perm contact.
My firm announced that we should all work 4 days a week from July to Sep. I can't even predict I will still have job after September. We are really low and many clients don't engage with our services this year. Moreover, they really don't treat me well. I've been played many many times. I have a kid and my management keeps on saying things behind of back like, don't have a kid, she screwed up her career after having one.
It's just to toxic here. I am losing my self confidence…. I don't want to be sr. staff another year. It will be weird if I stay in the same company with the same title over 5 years. However, a contract is huge risk and I've never taken any contract work in my life.AUD - 81BEC - 76

ChloeParticipantI've already commented on someone else's thread so I've copied and pasted the same answer.
If you are still working on your narrative, my comment might be helpful since the Board has approved my license. I would like to give you a timeline.
I've passed my exam in March 2020 and submitted my narrative with related docs at the end of April. The Board said that i did not give them enough definition of each competency and rejected my first narrative in mid May. I resubmitted it on May 20th and received the approved email in June 8th. At the first attempt, I wrote about 5 pages and 2nd attempt, I wrote 8 pages.
Unfortunately, I am not able to share my narrative but from my experience you need to include definitions of 7 competencies (like textbook definitions) and give them one or two examples from your work experience but you should not miss any of the competency. you must include every single competency on your narrative. For example, if they ask you “integrity” and “due diligence”, you must explain both of them not just pick integrity and expand on it.
I hope it helps you to start off your narrative. Good luck!AUD - 81BEC - 76

ChloeParticipantHi Anu,
My Oregon license has been just approved. I would like to give you a timeline because no one really explained me how long it would go through the process.

ChloeParticipantHey, I think you need to focus on details to pass FAR. It is good time to grab a pen and paper and make journal entries (T accounts if you prefer) that you've been studying.
Also, solve AICPA released questions and practice questions. If you already solved them, do AICPA practice questions again but this time, focus on SIMs. you might see the same sims on your exam.Don't solve only wrong questions. you might forget the one that you got correct initially. re-take 10-20 MCQs per chapter.
That's what I did.

ChloeParticipantHey,
Sounds like you haven't seen many questions related to FAR on the Sims in the test centre. I have failed twice already by two points. I got “weak” on MCQs on my first attempt but got “weak” on SIMs on my second attempt so I do not know how to prepare the sims. I have a plan to take the exam next week and have already solved all the MCQs on Ninja and will attack SIMs + AICPA released questions with my notes.
I have a full time job with 20 months old baby so can't have much time to study only. Any advice for me to study particular subject more? I got “weak” on III. Performing further procedures and obtaining evidence area and I believe because I did bad on sims related to this questions.

December 19, 2019 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Advice for retaking AUD in a month (failed twice) #2852892ChloeParticipantI just reviewed my score report, it seems like i have screwed on sims not MCQs. I feel like i have mis-read the questions what it was actually asking for bc I understood at least 5 questions perfectly.
Ok, i will start to take a note and keep reading it and will solve some sims as well. Thank youAUD - 81BEC - 76

ChloeParticipant@Spendub, you are right. Basically, to use the eyeball trick, you need to take 2 exams during the window. I am super nervous now.

ChloeParticipantThe suspense is killing me! On my first attempt on AUD, I felt so confident and I felt like I've over prepared because the questions were so easy but guess what I failed by 3 points.
I really felt that I got most of questions right but I was totally wrong. This time, I had a few questions that I have never seen on my book or on my MCQs and Simulations were moderate to difficult.
Every question were like AUD + FAR. I really hope that I pass this exam. Please wish me a luck!!!AUD - 81BEC - 76
