Yes, but only if you already have a full understanding of GL accounting and can make JEs effortlessly. You also have to learn to take the exam. If you really commit to it, you should be able to do it.

You may either want to utilize the built in recs in the software or use a product like blackline.

For those that did not pass, please keep going. You can do it! Only piece of advice I would like to give are to people who scored lower than 60's. If you fall into this category, you do not understand any of the concepts. That's just the bottom line. You need to first figure out studying tips and how you learn concepts the best before you even worry about the actual accounting materials. I hope this helps.

I used the same approach as OP. I just did MCQs one subsection at a time. It may be difficult to get the overall concept but if you break it down per subsection, it starts to flesh itself out. I just stopped taking notes all together and did it by memory only. Very bare-bones approach but it got the job done. I think I saved myself a lot of reading and watching. I personally think book and lectures are useless to me (not everyone else). Just figure out how you learn the best and put in the work.

Waiting for my final REG score. Pass or fail, I'm done with the exams. I'm just going to let it all lapse if I failed.

Prometric would follow w/e snow policy the surrounding area follows. If 1-3 inches of snow is nothing in that area, why would Prometric close when everyone else is open? I think you're worrying for nothing. Also, I think they allow reschedules for cancellations due to weather. I remember seeing some posts about that during the hurricane on the east coast.

It really is what you make of it. I have REG left to become a CPA but I recently got a job as a Controller and I clear 6 figures with almost zero stress and light workload. The owner didn't even care that I didn't have a CPA because I just sold myself in the interview, not my credentials.

@letsrun4it how is it living in vegas? I've been thinking about moving there but I wasn't sure because of the education system (or so I've heard that I'll probably have to send my kids to private school).

If you show full commitment, your husband will support you. But, if you don't go all in, you only have yourself to blame and you should quit. It sounds like you had other things happen and you just half-way did it. You only sat 3 times in 4 years so I highly doubt you were that serious about the exam.

I started in early 2015 with a 2 year old child and just had my 2nd one in August of this year. I have REG left and I'm taking it on 12/9. I know how you feel being in a marriage and having life responsibilities. My wife has been pretty supportive but I can see her just wanting it to be over at the same time. All I know is we're both going to get drunk, laugh, and cry together when I finally pass. THAT'S what's important in your marriage.

I never studied any of the SIMS for any sections I passed. It's my personal belief that it's useless to study it because if you know the material, the format of SIMS does not matter. You just have to be comfortable enough to be able to make correct JEs.

From my previous post regarding NPF:

Statement of Activities = Income Statement
Statement of Financial Position = Balance Sheet
    Statement of Cash Flows
    Equity = Net Assets

    Net Assets has 3 categories:

Unrestricted (URNA) – Donor imposes no restrictions
Board designated – This is not a true restriction and is still classified as Unrestricted on the SOFP, although they can present it separately under Unstricted (DO NOT LET THE MCQs trip you up on this, it is easy points)
Temporarily Restricted (TRNA) – Donor can impose two restrictions under time (ex: you can spend this next year) and purpose (ex: you can only spend it for your conference).
Permanently Restricted (PRNA) – If a donor donates an investment or some kind of asset and you can only use the earning from the asset. You can only get the perm. restriction taken off directly from the donor or the donor's agent (usually if the donor passed away)
Expenses – Expenses are only taken from URNA. It never gets expensed from TRNA. If the MCQ asks you what would happen if the temporarily restriction was fulfilled and expensed, it'll decrease URNA because the funds would be released from TRNA to URNA

Statement of functional expenses – only volunteer welfare orgs have to prepare.

Understanding these points literally will cover about 90% of all NPF related MCQs.

I work exclusively with non profits and I have not seen one executive director or CFO with an MPA designation. They usually only have one advanced degree (MBA, PhD, etc) or a CPA (if only going to be in the accounting side of NPF). There also are certification for specific NPF's. One that comes to mind is ASAE (The Center for Association Leadership) with a CAE designation (Certified Association Executive). I have seen more CAE certification from my clients next to MBA/CPA.
