I took AUD today. Luckily they did give me a calculator. The staff was pretty nice and even gave me a mask when mine broke during break.

What topics did you see on your SIM? And was it easy overall?

@DamieF are you saying you were certified based only on exam and education-no experience?

No I’m not certified. I don’t have enough experience for certification

Well since I registered as a graduate student, the package was to pass and get the next membership dues waived. But I think you’ll continue to pay membership dues but not the same amount those who are certified pay

This is a wake up call to NASBA to just do away with the 18month rule. I really don’t understand why that rule exist

I believe the scores are curved. They will never come out to admit this due to the legal consequences they risk facing but come to think of it, how come the pass rate for every quarter for the past years has always been 45-50%. The same pattern every year. I don't think it’s logical and possible that half of the candidates taking the exams will always pass & fail. It would have been more convincing if the pass rates fell within 30-70% and they’re not the same every quarter. This is why your test scores are compared with order test takers to see if you were stronger or weaker than them and why they think you should get the grades you have. IMO the scores are curved just to control the numbers of people passing and making the credential more valuable

For section 1245, you can only recapture the lesser of the gain or depreciation. Any excess will be section 1231 gain. From your Qs, only the gain $6000 can be fully recaptured, nothing is transferred to section 1231. I’m also studying for Reg and I hope I explained this better
