    No way. Just took BEC last week with a book from 2017. Nothing was “out of the blue” unfamiliar. Don't listen to anyone else.

    Skip derivatives/hedging but definitely study foreign currency translations. Leases aren't really needed. Pensions aren't looked at too much but do understand the basics of what make up a pension liability.

    MCQ strategy only really works in you are very familiar with the topic already. At the very least read the book/watch the lectures first.

    Everyone I have talked to has had a sim revolving around adjusting entries. You are given about 8 different tabs of information to translate to a balance sheet.

    Gov NFP, Balance Sheet topics (Cash, Receivables, PPE, etc), Consolidation are important to know.

    I was able to pass (barely) without putting time into the following topics:

    Derivatives
    Foreign Currency
    Income Taxes
    IFRS vs. GAAP

    You will never pass if you continue to blame others and act like a victim.

    I guarantee I was born with less IQ points than yourself. Do the work and buckle down. Anyone can pass these exams if they put in the time.

    I have no idea how people can do 300+ MCQ in a day. Are you actually understanding why you got a question right/wrong or is it more memorization?

    AndreA… I never really agree with this advice. Aside from the $200 lost, a dip in confidence is not worth risking.

    My first set of FAR mcq were easier than Ninja. Less wordy and faster to complete. My second set was harder and on par with the difficulty of Ninja. My average mcq score with Ninja after 1500 questions was 67%, whereas my test score was 77%. Hope that helps.

    Start studying for a different exam. I just took FAR. Completely guessed on 6 of 8 sims and would have bet money I failed. Remarkably I passed. You never know my dude.

    The Mock exams are way harder than the real thing imo
