Hey man – for me – I suck at taking notes…Been that way before college. What really helped me is I would switch back and forth between Becker and Ninja. I just finally passed with a 81 and it was my 4th time. I constantly scored in the low 70s and I felt like I was a total idiot. But…you're not! I swear these tests are spawns from hell lol. So I would do like 15-20 questions in Becker…made either legit notes or mental notes of why I got questions correct (and why the other answers were wrong) or wrong. Then I would switch to Ninja and do 10 questions there and then continue to go back and forth. Honestly i was pushing out like 100 MCQ's a day and it was very tiring and mentally exhausting. On weekends I'd do even more. Once you see a lot of the questions…you'll eventually nail the concepts and it'll be a breeze. What helped me this time was listening to Ninja Audio was I was working (sitting at my desk). For the Audio – I pretty much focused on the IT section because that really tripped me up each time (limit checks, check digits, etc.).
jfh9857ParticipantFinally passed BEC with a 81. 2/4 complete – lets get it! To those who failed – keep grinding – it def sucks but you learn so much about yourself during this process. keep studying and working hard!
jfh9857ParticipantI agree with PDiddy (Love the name btw). I failed FAR with a 74 a few months ago. I pretty much knew what my weak areas were. I used Becker and I actually signed up for Ninja MCQ's just to supplement for additional questions/help. I focused on my weak areas but at the same time…I made sure I continued to work on MCQ's from other sections. These exams sometimes are based on luck (obviously you need to study hard)…I failed FAR 3 times before passing and I was always in the 69-74 range and I remember I had one test that had 3 consolidation sims, which is one of my weakest areas. The additional MCQ's, writing down notes, and pounding literally over a thousand MCQ's pushed me to an 81. Also, try to figure out why the answers to some of the MCQ's are wrong rather than just saying OH I got this one right and move on. When I received a 74, I studied for an additional 4 weeks and then was ready to roll come exam day.
jfh9857ParticipantI also received a score of a 74! It definitely stinks but we ARE SO CLOSE. The same thing happened to me on FAR a few months ago. I'm going to study for another 3-4 weeks and probably take my test on a Monday after week 4. I would hit all of the areas again and continue to pound MCQ's and really try to understand the concepts. Once the score report comes out (you should receive an email…or it'll probably be uploaded on the Nasba Site sometime today or tomorrow), review your weak areas. It definitely feels defeating…But we are close. I got a 74 on FAR and used the same process above and finally passed with a 81. Just don't get too down on yourself – these tests are hard and we got this :)!
jfh9857ParticipantI failed Far with a 72 as well after using Becker. This is the 3rd time I failed. I am supplementing questions this time by using the NINJA MCQ's/Sims for $67/month. I listen to the audio in my car to/from work and while i'm working on tax returns using headphones! I'm taking this beast again after tax season as well. Hoping this will push me over the hump!
