Does cost to cost mean percentage of completion?

@RustyShackleford_75 any FAR topics you recommend reviewing days prior to the test aside from NFP/Gov?

@DeMo I guess I should disclose that I did study for AUD using becker in 2010 (got a 74) and then again in 2015 (got a 73). I've been out of public accounting for 5 years and had spent 5 years in public.

In Jan of 2018 I decided to study again and this time used Wiley. I went through the book and did the MCQ's after each lesson. I did skip the pre test questions but sometimes did those after the lessons. I then had 3 weeks to review and thats when I bought NINJA. Since I felt really comfortable with the material, I just did as many random MCQs to get into the adaptive learning phase. Once there, I drilled into my detailed progress report and any topic that I was low in, I would go directly to those problems and did them until I got them right (and understood the answer was the answer). I did this for all the categories in NINJA and then I just continued to do random MCQ's in NINJA until test day.

I'm doing this same method for FAR, but rather than doing a bunch of MCQs in NINJA to get into adaptive learning, I'm going category by category in NINJA. I think I feel more comfortable tackling each area because I'm not as comfortable with FAR as I was for AUD since 1) I had gone through the material before and 2) I worked in audit for 5 years.

    Hope that helps!

I used Wiley & NINJA for AUD and passed on the first try. I'm now using Wiley & NINJA for FAR. I finished most of Wiley's book but now I'm diving into the NINJA MCQ's.. my test is June 4th.

Has anyone else gone through all of the NINJA FAR MCQ's and managed to pass FAR? My plan is to go section by section and going back to the ones I got wrong/reading the Wiley book in areas that I'm not understanding. I want to make sure I understand all the NINJA MCQ's and as many of the SIMS as possible before the test. Seem like a good plan?

    Hi-

When I studied for AUD, I did the entire Wiley program and then I bought Ninja MCQ. Since I had gone through all the material and Wiley's MCQ, I just did random MCQ's in Ninja until I got into the adaptive learning section. Once I was in that section, I started to look at my detailed progress report and went directly to the sections I was lower in. Once I brought all sections up above a 75, I went back to doing all new MCQ's. From there I did new ones until exam day. I passed AUD and I think all the MCQs helped.

Its funny because now I'm studying for FAR and when I finish a topic in Wiley, I go into Ninja and do those MCQs. I think its best to do what I did for AUD since its probably better to go back to the topics and test yourself with Ninja to see if you retained the info or not.

I took AUD today too. I felt like I did well on the MCQ but there were a few that threw me off, perhaps pre test questions. The SIMS were pretty tough. I think I messed up the research question.. Hope that isnt a deal breaker..

This was my first time taking the test under the new method. The SIMs were long and I was worried I wouldnt have enough time, but ended with 15 mins left over.

Anyone else feel like they did bad on the SIMs under the new grading and still passed? Specifically knowing the messed up the 1 research question they got?

Absolutely you should sit for it since A) you already paid and B) you can get a sense of the questions asked and C) you might pass!

I'm taking AUD tomorrow. I did 2 practice exams and I have done over 2,000 MQC on NINJA. I did the AICPA sample tests 2x and did the 2017 and 2018 ones as the other poster mentioned since I too noticed the 2018 has more than the 2017 example. I feel prepared but I anything is possible…

@RE2PECT I'm in the same boat with a 72. I did all the HW on becker and was trending 80-90%. I also was an auditor for 5 years. I'm also studying for BEC now, but I'm most likely pushing my BEC test out to late August and spending the rest of June restudying for Audit to take again in July. I'm going to buy the Ninja notes and do all the mqc's there as well. My state provides the breakout of the area you did better / weaker on so i'm curious to see which areas they say im weaker in. I'll focus extra hard in those areas.

Anyone else have any suggestions to nail audit after a 72?

Failed audit with a 72. I only used becker and I thought I was fully prepared… I think I'll buy Ninja MCQ and retake it. I'm praying it pays off..

@Jess774 Thanks, I wasn't necessarily going to skip it, since I'm half way through the HW, but maybe not trying to stress out over it as much as other areas. But you're right, you never know what could come up!

Hey! I'm new to this forum. Does anyone think becker chap 2 is a waste of time? I know its a lot of calculations, etc. but i noticed it doesnt seem to have a heavy % when i look at the test outline becker provides in the book. it looks like only 10-14%.

ive watched all the lecture for this chapter and done about half of the HW. I typically like to do all the HW and score in the 90s overall before moving on, but im thinking i may be wasting time. does anyone else feel this way too? if we know most of the formulas around contribution margin, should that be enough? seems like chap 3 is a must since its 19-23% (financial management)

Chap 2 is strategic planning, forecasting, budget, variance and marginal analysis FYI for those who arent using becker.
