@Beth thank you so much, and you’re welcome! I think you won’t have any issues other than just checking up with them after the fingerprints. I would suggest following up after the 7 days instead of waiting the 14 days like I did. Again, if you have any questions along the way, just let me know.

And congratulations on recently completing the exam!

@Beth As of today, everything is complete. Apparently they had my fingerprints for almost 2 weeks until I reached out last Thursday and spoke with the person responsible for the reciprocal applications. Someone gave me her name and told me to call back and ask for her directly. Once I spoke with her, the next day she sent the Rules of Professional Conduct exam, which I completed that same day. This morning I received an email saying the application was complete with a license number and for me to login into my licensee portal to complete the license renewal application (which was just simply their way of collecting the annual licensing fee from me).

Overall, the process wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

@Beth Perfect timing with your question. The Texas Board just received my application on Friday, 3/5/2021. I received an email confirmation on 3/10 that provided me with information on getting my fingerprints done at Identogo. I completed my fingerprints the next day, 3/11. As of today, I haven’t heard from them, but Identogo said that it can take up to 7 business days for the requesting location to receive my fingerprints electronically (I think it also includes a background check). In my email from 3/10, I was I informed that once the fingerprints are processed, they’d send a link to take their Rules of Professional Conduct exam (this is separate from the Ethics exam that you have to submit with the application).

I will try to remember to update you once I complete the process, but so far it seems like I won’t have any issues. If I don’t reply within the next 2 weeks, feel free to reply in order to remind me to provide an update.

Also, here’s a link to the reciprocal application process, if that helps you: https://www.tsbpa.texas.gov/forms/reciprocal-application.html

Ahhh, I see! That's definitely not my experience, so I will let someone with experience transferring scores and Michigan help answer your question :-). Good thing you have Hawaii as your alternative, as well.

I do not have experience with Michigan specifically, but they should have a reciprocity/transfer of license process. Instead of transferring your “scores”, you would get licensed in the State of Ohio (go through the full licensing process), and then apply for reciprocity in the State of Michigan. Following this process will allow you to simply transfer your license, which is what I'm currently in the process of with my state.

I'm almost certain if you simply transfer your scores, then you would have to meet the normal State of Michigan requirements (because you aren't licensed simply based on your scores), which I think would defeat the purpose of you applying through Ohio. Try checking Michigan's website for “transfer of license” or “reciprocity”. I'm certain they will have additional details on the process.

Hopefully someone with experience in Michigan can chime in to help clarify, just in case I have misspoken.

Done after 12 months (including 1 retake)! I've enjoyed reading everyone's success stories, which has kept me motivated. This process has definitely been draining and then factor in a pandemic – which ironically kept me in the house and forced me to study since there was nothing else to do.

Congratulations to all of those that passed with this most recent score release! For those still going through this journey, do not give up. Also, use this forum regularly because you will get some great testing tips, encouragement, and help with questions tough MCQs and SIMs.

You would get credit because your REG score would be as of the date you actually took the exam. So, if you pass REG ON 3/3, you will have credit for all 4 parts by 3/10.

Based on what I've seen from other posters, sometimes it takes a few days for the expired exam to “release”. Maybe it will release within the next day or so since scores were just released last night. I would say if it's not available by end of day Wednesday, you should reach out to your state board.

I initially took BEC first because many people said it would be the easiest since it had the least amount of material, and that would get me motivated. I found myself struggling with it because the sections really didn't flow (in my mind). I honestly wish I would have gone with my gut and had taken AUD first since that was the area that I was most familiar with.

I've also seen many people in various forums and social media groups suggest FAR first since it has the most material and your 18 month clock doesn't start until it's passed – which absolutely makes sense to me… but.. my unpopular opinion has been to take FAR last. My reasoning is that I've met a few people (and have seen many online posts) that did not meet the 18 month window. I know we all go into this process with the idea of meeting the window, but you never know what life will throw at you in 18 months that might cause you to miss that window… marriage, illness, children, major move/job change, or even a pandemic. I personally didn't want to risk not meeting the 18 month window and losing the FAR as my first exam… on the flip side of that, I saved FAR for last and I think I was mentally drained by the time I got to it, and failed my first try (thankfully, I passed with this most recent score release); so that's something to also keep in mind.

I say all of that to say, I think you have to personally weigh your pros and cons while considering others' insight as well. If I could do it over again, I'd probably take AUD first and FAR second or third (because I personally would still be worried about not meeting the 18 month window and not want to lose a passing FAR score because of that).

I'm interested to see what others suggest.

Also, less content after July 2021 is also incentive to save FAR and REG for last 🙂

Passed FAR (had to do a retake)! Finally done! This has been a long and stressful journey, but I'm glad it's over.

This forum has been a great resource throughout the process – from encouragement, study tips, help on tough practice questions, and simply just keeping me mentally sane throughout the process by letting me know I wasn't in this alone.

Congratulations to those that passed their exams with this score release!

For those that did not pass, please do not give up… go through this forum and find some of the success stories because they all kept me encouraged. I felt so defeated when I failed FAR the first time, but I knew many others had been in the same boat and were successful in the end.

I haven't applied, but if you complete the form with the required/valid documentation, I can't see why your NTS couldn't be extended. I think a positive COVID test in less than 14 days away from your exam is much reason to extend. I wouldn't be surprised if you do not get a response before 12/31, but I would guess they will honor your request as long as your email submission of the documentation and form is prior to your exam date. The form seems to give you at least 30 days after the “extreme circumstance”. I would even consider copying your state board on the email as well (if they do not already have a form/process publicly documented for extension under extreme circumstances).

@fsugirl2005 You are an amazing woman! *high five*. Faith and determination will definitely get us through things that we typically think we can’t handle.

Thanks, and good luck to you as well!… we will both end 2020 strong with passing exams!

@fsugirl2005 Two exams days apart?! I'm impressed! I don't think my nerves would let me handle two exams days apart. I've seen a few people in this forum and the NASBA Facebook group that have done that before and have been successful. Just a few weeks ago there was a guy that mentioned taking all 4 exams approximately 1-2 weeks a part (if I remember correctly)… and he passed all 4 exams!

Right now, I'm checking dates at least 5-6 times a day between studying. I'm scheduled for 12/30 out of state, but would really appreciate something local. Yesterday I checked the drive out of state and realized it's actually almost a 6 hour drive versus a 4.5 hour drive like I originally thought. I haven't gone there in years since my parents always prefer visiting me, so I guess I forgot how long the drive truly is.
