I grew up in middle Georgia, went to a small D1 school to study engineering and play basketball. After 3 torn ACL’s, I hung up the basketball jersey and left that school. I made the switch to accounting and upon graduating, realized that there was a niche for computer programming accountants (engineering school provided me with a background in C++ and Java). I taught myself VBA and Powershell the rest is history. After a couple of years in public I switched to private accounting. I’ve moved through 5 companies, automating accounting process with the use of Powershell/VBA and other excel functions. I have also been involved with the implementations of different accounting software’s (SAP to Peoplesoft and vice versa along with others). Currently residing in central Florida and working in Data Analytics for a large vacation ownership company. One day I will write a book about my journey, not only in life, but of the grueling process to obtain a CPA while having a pregnant wife and a two year old running around. Just remember, if a guy with a Georgia “edumucation” can power through and pass these exams, you can to. If you need any inspiration, please feel free to write me.
