@ C I passed FAR with an 84 thanks to Roger. I think what helped me the most was the retaking of the MCQs along with some TBS here and there. I studied A TON for FAR. I probably took 80% of the MCQs twice. Good luck on your exam.
FYI – I passed AUD, BEC and FAR on the first try with Roger. I just took REG on 7/18 so now I am waiting for the score release and hopefully be done with this chapter in life. I'll be giving Roger a big shout out once I pass!
CPA 2020TonyParticipantTonyParticipantI am still shocked that I passed FAR with an 84! I still got 2 more to go, BEC first and last REG. I honestly thought I did bad after I left the test center because it was so overwhelming. I didn't feel like I did my best with the MCQs (time was pressuring me) but I did feel the SIMs were relatively easier than the MCQs. I am studying with Roger and so far so good. 2 out of 2.
Congrats to everyone that passed and for those that did not, DO NOT GIVE UP. Keep trying, be persistent!
CPA 2020TonyParticipant@Alex260605 I felt the exact same way before taking the test this past Wednesday and I agree that it is hard to retain all of the information. Idk if I passed and I'm 50/50 about it (will find out around the 19th of Sept). Therefore, I cannot give a solid advice in comparison to others here who have passed. But in my experience, I wished I had practiced my speed for answering the MCQs. They took me longer that anticipated which caused me to be under tremendous pressure with the TBS.
CPA 2020TonyParticipantNeed some advice:
I am currently scheduled for the FAR exam on 8/17. However, I am thinking about rescheduling it to 10/5 instead. The reason being is that I want to continue working on getting faster with the MCQs and TBS. I am using Roger CPA and while I've made significant progress, I do feel that going all over again the incorrectly answered questions (which is a TON) could help me to do better the day of the test.
I've been studying for almost 6 months now. I know most people recommend to take no more than 6 months but FAR is a monster of learning materials and with work, I can only study weekends and week nights and sometimes during work.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
CPA 2020TonyParticipantHello All,
I am starting my 2nd month of studying with Roger CPA for the FAR exam. While I still have tons of practice MCQs and TBS, I've noticed that some MCQs have taken me past the 1:20 mark that's recommended (mostly due to the calculations that need to be done). Maybe I am overthinking it since I am only about 30% into the course outline, but I feel that those MCQs with calculations are hard to do within 1:20.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how they dealt with that at the exam or how they plan to deal with it when they take the exam?
I will keep practicing the MCQs over and over again so I can get faster but it's hard to remember all the formulas that need to be employed to answer the MCQs.
I was told by a coworker, who passed all 4 parts at first try, that MOST of her MCQs in the FAR exam did not contain calculations that needed to be done. Not sure if others had the same experience.
CPA 2020TonyParticipantHello All,
Just an update on the AUD exam that I took on 2/16. Scores were released last night and I am glad to report that I passed with a 75! My method of studying consisted mostly of taking as many MCQs as I could and work on answering them within 1:25 minutes. I did practice the TBS as well but not as significantly as I did with the MCQs. I felt the MCQs helped me understand better and consequently, I was doing better with the TBS and felt confident about answering them correctly in the exam. However, I must admit that I did feel strange getting a 75 as I thought I would get a higher grade (maybe in the lower 80s). In the end though, I'll take the passing grade any day!
Next is FAR so I will be going to that study group forum. Best of luck to everyone here and I hope your scores were 75 and higher!
CPA 2020TonyParticipant@Elich I got one with ratios but the TBS provided the formulas so it's not something that you must remember. I think doing as many MCQs and TBS as you can will help. It was my first exam as well. I thought it was 1:25 for the MCQs and 18 mins per TBS.
I did not do the CRAM course. The more confusing questions you practice the more you are likely to get better at them before the exam, that's my opinion.
CPA 2020TonyParticipantHello All,
Just wanted to report back on the AUD exam that I took yesterday. MCQs were ok for the most part. I felt like it got a bit harder in the beginning of the 2nd Testlet (I have read that is a good sign?) but then by the midpoint, the MCQs went back to “normal”. The TBS were tricky. I had to make a lot of educated guesses in one of them (due to the timing) which I hope does not lower my score significantly. I feel confident with the other TBS though. In conclusion, I think my biggest problem was staying on track with the time. I should have probably decided faster (or made a quicker guess) with the MCQs in the 2nd Teslet as that's when I went off track. I'll report back on March 8th with the score.
On the other hand, I am glad to have 1 exam under my belt and get that much needed experience for preparation of the other 3 exams. Not sure which section I should study for next. I originally planned to do BEC, FAR, and REG. But now I am leaning towards FAR, REG, and BEC.
Any recommendations would be helpful!
CPA 2020TonyParticipantTonyParticipantHey Everyone,
My name is Tony. It's been over 6 months since I started studying AUD with Roger CPA. However, due to scheduling conflicts, I haven't been able to sit for the exam and will finally take the exam in February (exact date TBD). This is my first exam. I feel prepared for it and have been practicing more on the TBS lately.
This might be a dumb question but, does anyone know if the CPA's TBS are graded based on getting all questions/parts/items within correct or do you get credit for all the ones you got right also? (For example: in Roger CPA, for the TBS, even if you get 1 item out of 20 wrong, then the whole answer is wrong)
Any feedback is much appreciated!
