My exam is coming up Sunday and I’m afraid it may get cancelled. I pretty much need to take the exam in this window.. Will they let me reschedule even if it’s like March 1st?

When I've seen this happen before, they do open up additional days to reschedule – like the next 5 days or something like that. Your score release would be delayed a few extra days, too, but they'll extend the window usually when they cancel for snow.

Sometimes NASBA will extend a testing window by 5 or so days. They will extend it for everybody if they do. Keep watching this site as someone is sure to post if NASBA makes that announcement. Otherwise there would be no testing in March at all. If your exam is cancelled you'll get a call to reschedule. Hopefully you'll be able to get another appointment before the 28th.

@mla – have they ever postponed an exam in March? I don't think that's ever been done before. Doubt they will extend it in March this year. What do you think?

Yup they've extended the window into March before. When extreme weather causes tons of cancellations toward the end of the window they'll do it. Personally I would have expected them to do it by now given the closings over the last 3 weeks or so. The fact that they haven't extended this window yet makers me wonder if they are going hard core.

Wow. That's surprising. But, the cancellations at Prometric happened earlier in February. So, not sure if that would affect anything.

Also – if they do extend it, wouldn't they just extend it for that particular prometric that had all the cancellations like Boston? Or would they have to do it for all the Prometrics?

They do it for all prometrics. They've extended into March because of snow, into September because of hurricanes in NOLA, into Dec after hurricane Sandy if I recall, etc. I'm pretty sure there were closings in Boston even this week, our commuter rail is all but shut down still…and I'm sure the GA and KY areas have been affected by ice and snow this week. for a while it seemed like every testing window was extended for sometimes.

    Did not know that. Thanks!

In November, NASBA decided to extend it without telling anyone. Do you think it's safe to call NASBA and ask them if they will extend it in March?

I don't think they'll tell anybody anything they haven't already posted publicly but it can't hurt to try. I remember people here posting “thanks hurricane Sandy! I get 5 more days!” Which was pretty insensitive to people in NJ and NY who would have preferred to test in Nov without dealing with a deadly hurricane….

I truly would have thought it would be extended by now.

I had mine canceled a few weeks ago in MA and was devastated because I was all ready to go and my NTS was about to expire. I looked on the PROMETRIC website and saw that another testing center in another state was open so I called PROMETRIC and they moved my exam to there without charge so I was good to go.
