Wiley Question –

Would you recommend watching the video lectures for REG?

For BEC, I felt like the video lectures literally consisted of the instructors reading from the book, so I didn’t bother watching them, and read directly from the book.

However, for those of you who have used CPAExcel for REG, would you recommend watching the video lectures? Do they work through the problems or is it simply reading from the books with a powerpoint behind them, similar to the BEC videos?

005 – Watched every video myself. I think the lectures in this one were extremely valuable. I remember in BEC feeling like it was a bit of a waste, but REG videos (especially the tax guy) were extremely valuable to me. IMO he broke it down a lot and simplified the studying for me in that section. Some are long, but I thought totally worth the investment of my time. Been out of school for 20 years, not working in tax, and passed first try with 90.

2 days ago, I started using CPAexcel (won in a drawing) and so far I love the Reg videos. I am done with property transactions and I feel that he does a good job explaining everything. Much better use of my time compared to reading the wiley textbook.
