Is This Time Span Realistic…?

I just graduated in may with an accounting degree and I planned to start studying for far right away. Long story short, some major family issues have made any studying unmanageable. However, it looks now like I will have the next 4 weeks open to study but I am not sure if this is enough time. I have browsed through the first three modules of becker but other than that I would just start from the begining.

Has anyone tried to cram like this? Any suggestions, experiences, or advice would really help me get my head straight.

    Question:

    Are you working?

I personally believe that it can be done if you dedicate yourself to full-time studying. I also believe that for most people, if possible, it is better to study 120-140 over the course of 4 weeks and sit for the exam than it is to spread 180 hours of studying over 3 months. Although, I do recognize that everyone's situation is different. Only you know how much time you can devote to studying.

    Good luck

    FAR - 93 - 7/1/14
    AUD - 94 - 7/25/14
    REG - 92 - 8/30/14
    BEC - 89 - 10/6/14

If you study every day for 4-5 hours, yes.

What you're planning to do OP, is what I'm doing now. I'm on week 2 of my 4 week study program to take FAR August 12th. It's tough, but I don't start work yet, so I just wake up, hit the gym early, get out, study by noon until Starbucks closes at 9. 8 hours almost every day. I think its possible.

I am not working yet, I start the last week of august. This is the main reason I am trying to squeeze far into such a small time frame. It wont be like I have nothing else to do except study but I was thinking something like 5-6 hours a day 6 days a week.

You should definitely do it! It is so hard to do it while working full time. And if you don't pass you'll have a lot of knowledge to take it again while your working

    BEC 81
    REG 81
    FAR 76
    AUD 76

    Done Forever!!

You could pass AUD & BEC in four weeks if you're schedule is wide open. I studied AUD for 2 weeks and BEC for 4 weeks. During BEC I was moving and billing 50 hrs a week.

I am doing the same thing, started studying for FAR last Saturday. My exam is Aug 13, so that gives me 3.5 weeks. Including a 8 hour flight to the U.S. to take the exam.

I spend 10-12 hours a day currently, which is way too much, I feel like I am about to die right now, but unfortunately it is my only way of getting through this massive materials. It takes forever with the Becker MCQs for FAR, and also reading the Becker chapters requires quite some time.

    AUD - 95 / Jul 15 / 130h over 4 weeks
    FAR - 86 / Aug 14 / 240h over 4 weeks
    (11 week break)

    REG - 81 / Nov 14 / 200h over 4 weeks
    BEC - 87 / Nov 17 / 30 h over 2.5 days

I just finished up F2 & F3, I hope the others are not as bad. What do you all think, is three weeks gonna be enough time to finish up the rest? Im getting pretty nervous.

If you finished F1-F3 in a week, it seems like you're on pace. You still have some of the hardest chapters to go (F5 / F6 / F7, IMO), but if you're doing okay on the MCQ, keep at it.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91

    Doable? Yes

Realistic? Depends on your work ethic

    Recommended? No

For my 4th attempt I can say 4 week is a good time for me, but that is due to trial and error of many different methods of studying and knowing what I need to do and how to approach the material. As a first attempt I wouldn't recommend a 4 week plan, unless you can push close to 1000 multiple choice questions in that period, browsing a chapter is not enough. If you can go through the material and do 1000 mcq I'll say go for it, otherwise don't be another me, you need to give the exam its time if you don't want another71!

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

Definitely doable. I studied FT (between 6-8 hours/day) for 5 weeks and got a 93. As long as you put in the required time you should be fine.

Yes, it is definitely doable. I studied 5-6 weeks while working almost full-time (usually around 35 hrs/wk) and still having family obligations etc. So, you can do it, you just have to put in the effort and force yourself through it! 🙂

… Worked full time while having family obligation.

It takes longer to pass the exam, but it works.

Family obligation is normal. In fact, in my family, drama is everyday.

I'm not sure about Becker. I don't use Becker. I just got a Wiley book and study.

In fact, I don't read 75% of the book. I learn through questions

One way to know when I am ready for the test: When my book is colorfully highlighted with all kinda of color and all my questions have notes marked next to them, I am ready.

I study about 1 hour on weekday and 3 hours each day on weekend.
