For those interested, this was posted by AICPA Communications to their blog:

“NASBA, the AICPA and Prometric have agreed to extend the testing window until Dec. 8, 2012, to enable candidates who were unable to test in the Northeast due to Hurricane Sandy.

Prometric’s test centers are coming back online and candidates are being contacted in order to reschedule. Please visit prometric.com for more information or contact NASBA at cpaexam@nasba.org or visit nasba.org for more information.”

If you're not affected by the storm – in the past you could also reschedule into the extended period…check your local testing center online for availability.

Perhaps they aren't allowing it now.

I remember people being able to change exams last winter during snow storms who weren't affected by the weather.

I had to call in because Prometric wasn't working for me online, and they said that they're having problems with the system. In addition, when I asked them to check on the availability, I was asked what state I was in. When I told them I was in California, they told methat the window was only available for those who were affected by the hurricane in those specific states.

It's possible the rep was misinformed, but this was just my experience.

@M, I am using the confirmation number from prometric. My friend also is using that number. She called in and was told the same thing fairylite was told.

bnr I got the same error message when I tried to reschedule a test a few years ago. I had to try back again later but I was ultimately able to do it. I'm thinking if someone in Orlando has reascheduled the person that fairylite spoke to may have been misinformed?

I had the same problems with “appointment not found.” I had to try a few different times, but it worked eventually. Rescheduled Aud for Dec. 6th (latest date available).
