Hey guys! You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for the support 🙂 Where do I begin….First off, sorry i haven't been on lately. Being that Friday (my exam day) went unbelievably horrible and with it being easter weekend, I did not have a chance to log on. By the way, I hope you guys had a wonderful Easter weekend!
So back to Friday, let's say Murphy's Law reared it's ugly face. Everything that could have gone wrong…did 🙁 Before the exam, I really felt good. I was on such a natural high on Thursday that I was unable to fall asleep so I literally stayed up all night studying. I went a good 36 hours without sleep..With that being said, I was the very first person to show up at prometric so the lady allowed me to select my own computer. Here I was thinking this was a good sign (and being that I am very superstitous), I naturally selected the computer that I used when I passed Regulation…Oh, sweet Jesus, why did the do that? As soon as I entered my launch code, it took about a good 4 minutes for the screen to pop up. After a few attempts in working the questions, the screen would literally take a good 30 seconds to a minute to go to the next question. I complained to the lady and she said to give it awhile since the computer was just turned on and it would take awhile to boot. So I did. By the time I got to the 2nd testlet, the computer was so slow it ate up a good 6 MINUTES of my time just for the second testlet to appear. I went and complained again to the lady and at this time all the computers were occupied so my only option was to wait until someone else had completed their test in order to move to another computer. All in all, the total time wasted on this computer issue was a good 25 minutes of my time. I knew I had to give myself 90 minutes to take the simulations so by the time I had 1 hr and 20 mins of running time left, I forced myself to move on to the simulations. I had 10 unanswered questions in the 3rd testlet by the time I reach the 1 hr 20 min mark. I literally guessed…..ugh, I wanna cry…I didn't even read the question. I just guessed. The worst feeling ever. Running out of time again.
The exam itself was more difficult than the first time. I felt like the exam went from super easy (in testlet 1), to difficult (long paragraphs in testlet 2), to very difficult (extremely long paragraphs in testlet 3). Then, don't even get me started on the simulations….ugh! I think I was so flustered about the computer issue that I couldn't concentrate. I literally cried as I read each simulation (yes, I know I'm a big cry baby)..
One of the simulations is not even really covered in Becker. Becker probably has about 2 pages worth of material on that subject so that was very discouraging. I just did the best I could. As I walked out the lady apologize for the computer issue. She told me she was going to write a report, but as I explained to her, that report doesn't change my grade. That report doesn't do anything for me. I sobbed in the car for a good 10 minutes. And so, I had a horrible experience. The worst experience ever. I can't believe how hard the 3rd testlet was for me. Every question had so much thrown into it. It was ridiculous.
I ran home and went through my book and some of the MCQs in an attempt to remember some of the questions to see if I had solved them correctly. Then, like a ton of bricks, I knocked out and didn't wake up till the next day.
I hope you guys don't ever have this experience. If you do, complain, complain, complain…….the prometric representative is allowed to stop your time and move you if you have computer problems. Don't let this happen to you!!
At this point I can only pray for giant miracle. My birthday is coming up soon and there was nothing I wanted more than to pass this exam 🙁
