Adrenal Gland Fatigue

Anyone have any experience with this?

I believe i’m starting to show symptoms, but I am unsure of it all. I do know that in the past 2 months (baby born 6 weeks ago) I am regularly forgetting what I’m doing, and even forget what i’m saying mid-sentence. Focusing is difficult, but I seem to manage as long as I’m doing 10 questions at a time.

As a whole this review has gone shockingly well and I do believe I will pass FAR with flying colors, i’m just trying to decide what to do after i’m done. I have a bad tendency to run at 100 mph for well…. 26 years in a row, and I have a suspicion my body is telling me to take a step back before going to the next project.

This could be me just over analyzing things and i’m just really damn tired from not getting more than 4 hours of straight sleep in the past 6 weeks 🙂

Either way, I think I plan on relaxing for at least a month after all is said and done, and I don’t plan on feeling even a little bad.

Adrenal fatigue isn't generally recognized in the medical world, so it's hard to find solid information about it. However, basically, if you're under stress, then you're stressing your adrenal glands…so whether you “truly have” adrenal fatigue or not, your adrenal glands would still appreciate some help!

You might like looking into supplements that help support your adrenal gland – Gaia Herbs has one that is pretty respected: https://www.amazon.com/Gaia-Herbs-Adrenal-Health-Phyto-Capsules/dp/B0036THML2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407796446&sr=8-1&keywords=gaia+herbs+adrenal+health People with chronic health problems like asthma or COPD can find themselves dealing with chronic adrenal issues as well, so sometimes supplements are their only option to help (you can take vacation from work or exams, but not from asthma!). My boyfriend has asthma and COPD both and has been trying out these supplements – he's only had them for a couple weeks but they seem to be helping with the adrenal issues, so thought I'd pass them on.

    (P. S. I'm a “run at 100 mph for 26 years” type, too, but have had to admit I have a lot of signs of adrenal problems, so am trying to de-stress and taking the supplements a bit too. I feel pretty good, but it's not been long enough to know if I'm any better or worse or if it's just been a good week or two.)

Time to take up Washington State's new favorite and legal past time IMO.

I don't think my wife will allow it. 🙂

You have a 6 week old baby and an older child, probably took somewhere between 1-2 weeks off work, studying for the CPA exam, and are looking for medical reasons for exhaustion and forgetfulness? LOL!!!

That level of exhaustion and memory issues are pretty staus quo when your second is a newborn. First baby everybody tells you “sleep when the baby sleeps” and that helps a lot but when you've got a toddler and a newborn who are likely on totally opposite schedules. When I was pg with # 2 I took my oldest to the movies just so I could shut my eyes for 2 hours 🙂

Your cortisol levels are probably through the roof. You really need to try to get some sleep (even if it is not in a row because of feedings)

Extreme fatigue, insomnia and brain fog could be a thyroid problem. Get your levels checked ASAP. Those were the warning signs I passed off as “exam stress” and I sure wish now that I hadn't.

There's physical aka medical consequences of the high-stress low-sleep existence post-baby and during exams…so, looking for a medical explanation is actually a pretty smart, sound thing to do. If you can help your body cope with the situation it can decrease the negative side effects dramatically!

@Kricket Yeah, thyroid is a likely issue too. It's amazing how many things can be affected by the same issues! My mom and sister have chronic thyroid issues – I'm just waiting for the day that I find out I do too. 😐
