Advice: Worried about a grade drop and getting a full time offer

I transferred from a normal state school after two years with a 3.8 GPA to UVA’s business school (McIntire). I have been told that the grades of transfer students often fall to as low as a 3.0 in their first semester (sometimes even lower).

I will be interning with a Big Four accounting firm next summer, and I do not want grades to become an issue in getting a full time offer. In my opinion, a GPA drop this significant should spell trouble.

What worries me is that I have no idea what grades I need. A 3.5 average between the two schools? requiring a 3.2+ at UVA? a 3.5 at UVA ? a 3.8? I really have no idea, and hell or high water I want to make sure I get the offer. Please give me your advice.

I am going to work my hardest regardless, but having a concrete goals help.

If you already got the internship, as long as your GPA doesn't go below 3.0 for any terms, you should be fine! And even if it does, I don't think it would be a huge problem unless you are sudden failing.
