I'm currently in healthcare industry with 2 years of experience in Finance and just passed all exams in December. I'm planning to jump into hospitality industry this year.

Questions for you guys,

>Which is more suitable position between Staff Accountant and Assistant Director of Finance?

>Do you recommend to gain some experience in hotel management before applying for the job?

>Please give me any suggestions/advice on how to attract recruiters especially for hotels?

I have been working in a 5-star chain hotel group for 5 years as a manager. Based on my observations, if u start ur career from accounting/finance department, the basic career path will be

AP associate-AP leader-GL-Chief Accountant-Asst FC-FC

but during this roadmap, you should join in all sorts of cross-training program to familiar with the knowledge from Income Audit, Credit, AR, cost and Pur department.

Or another career path, if you have passed the CPA exam, I would like to suggest u to get some chance to be selected into CMT or CET program, or u could start ur career from group internal audit department, then later transfer yourself into the ACC or FIN department as an asst FC.

Those are two ways u can implement for ur career path in hospitality industry.
