I knocked out my first 3 the summer between undergrad and starting my masters. Seems like quite a few people in my program did the same if they were able to intern after their junior years.

I graduated with my Bachelors a year ago. I never though of going for my Masters. The CPA exam was something I wanted to take a few years from now. When I got the email about the changes happening next year, that was the push I needed to get it out of the way ASAP. I don't see myself going back to get my Masters unless my job really requires it or I feel I really need it to advance in my career.

I took the exams a year after I finished my undergrad degree. I've been licensed for a couple years now and still haven't started a Master's program. Since lots of people do a Master's to get their 150 credits, and many states require 150 to sit, I think that's why many people have their Master's before sitting. I used additional undergrad classes to get my 150, so even though I was in a state that required 150 to sit, I got the 150 without taking any graduate courses.

What states are you still allowed to do that?

I got licensed in Vermont in January. I was able to get 150 credits in my undergraduate courses, which allowed me to graduate with my BS in Accounting and 2 minors and no graduate courses.

@Sunni What are you asking about states that allow – sitting prior to the 150 or completing the 150 through undergrad courses instead of Master's? I think the states that require a Master's are still in the minority, though I think the ones that require the education requirements to be met prior to taking the exam are in the majority.

Sure, I've pretty much done the same format of studying for all 4 parts so far. I mainly use Becker but have also used Ninja AUD and BEC I believe.

Basically I split up each of the chapters in Becker and do the following…

    1. Watch the lecture and take notes as I go, basically just trying to get a first pass at the information
    2. Do a full read through of the chapter and pick up on anythings I may have missed
    3. Go page by page and make handwritten notecards about anything is important or if I don't understand
    4. Do the MCQ section by section, and make handwritten notecards for anything I find important, difficult, or a question I got wrong

Usually every 3-4 chapters I'll do a couple of sets of 100 MCQ just to make sure I understand the information.

After I finish up all of the chapters, I just do a brief skim of the information one more time and just do as many MQC as I possibly can.

I guess I haven't focused too much on doing the practice SIMS just because I feel like they are so hard to accurately practice for and having a solid understanding of the information will go a long way come exam day.

That's a pretty brief synopsis of what I've done, but let me know if you have anymore questions. Happy to help.

I graduated last November with my undergrad and I'm starting with BEC July 30th.
I'm using NINJA book, notes MCQ and audio notes.
I'm also going to use Becker review because I received a scholarship discount on the entire package which made it very affordable to use compared is paying full price.
My learning style is audio visual and just reading from the book has been a challenge.
I can say the NINJA audio tapes for BEC has been helping allot.
