    Hi,

My husband pays for all my expenses. Can he claim my CPA review material expenses and exam fees paid as deductions while filing the tax returns?

    Thanks.

The only educational expenses that are ever deductible are ones paid to a college or university. Even if you were self employed it wouldn't be considered a business expense so that isn't relevant.

    https://www.irs.gov/publications/p17/ch27.html

CPA exam materials are specifically excluded (as are materials to study for the bar).

If you own your own business anything is tax deductible. Just ask any small business owner.

At the same time, ask how often they get audited.
